2008 Nissan Pathfinder - Outdoor Lifestyle
This car is great for an outdoor lifestyle or for a large family. I use mine to carry kayaks and bikes all the time. I also use it to carry up to 7 friends on these adventures. The engine is plenty powerful and having 4x4 is great. The interior has plenty of space and it can easily be comfortable for long drives. However, you will most likely get pretty bad gas mileage along the way. My biggest gripe with the car is certainly the MPG and limited range between fill ups.
Story
I have taken my mountain bikes and kayaks to our local outdoor park and lake every weekend for the past few years. Its great to be able to safely load so much gear into one vehicle so that friends can come along with minimal planning.
Pros
My favorite feature of my pathfinder is the 4x4 capability. It works really well (getting me out of several icy or muddy situations) and does not hurt the engine performance in the slightest. Switching to 4x4 mode is easy and the car responds appropriately over time. My next pro is the size of the vehicle. My Pathfinder has tons of storage and leg room. I even have the optional third row seating and there is still plenty of room. Despite this internal room, the car's foot print is not that large so it can still make its way down trails or into parking spots.
Cons
My Pathfinder gets less than 15 mpg in the city and less than 19 mpg on the highway. This would not be a big deal other that the fact that it is only a six cylinder. The other Con is the lack of air circulation to the rear seats by the air conditioning system. This has been a problem since I got the car and it has gotten worse with age.
2011 Nissan Pathfinder - Reliable vehicle
What I like most about this car is that it is very reliable. I have had cars in the past where every other month something was wrong with it and they got recalled. I also really like the body style of this vehicle.
