We bought our Murano in 2009. It was gently used. We chose the Murano because we were due with our first child and it had great safety ratings. Six years later, it is still running strong with regular check-ups. There have been no major repairs and it has made 3 cross country trips. It is very roomy and I feel it still looks stylish compared to the newer cars on the road. The biggest downfall is the electronic dash. There have been a few glitches on the screen that are still there, even though all the functions still work, you cannot read about them on the screen anymore.
Story
Many times I park my car next to its twin! Lots of Muranos in Texas!
Pros
Safety features, roominess, ease of handling have been my favorite features.
Cons
The dashboard glitches and inability to fix them without taking apart the dash. There are a couple of blind spots that took some time to get used to.

2009 Nissan Murano - Love my Murano.

This is a very comfortable and roomy vehicle, it comfortably seats 5 adults and the backseat is large enough for people with small children to easily install 3 child car seats. It also takes bumps in the road very well unlike a few others in it's price range that I test drove. The cargo area is very nice. The back seats fold down for additional room. There is an underneath storage area for the spare tire and small tools. The dash has multiple controls, from telling you how many miles you have left on your tank of gas to the outside weather conditions. It is an all wheel drive sub, when not engaged it is a front wheel drive, making it much easier to get around in winter weather. There is a nice function of it regulating speed when going downhill, it keeps your speed steady, unlike all o... (more)
Story
This is the first SUV I've owned. We were on a back country road and didn't realize the a tree had fallen after a storm, blocking the roadway. We decided to try the AWD and see how well it did off road. We drove it down a hill, through a field and back on to a main highway with barely feeling a bump. It was fun.
Pros
AWD, traction control, anti slip were the top 3 features that led to my purchase. Ohio winters can be rough and these are much needed features in a car. This Murano has excellent gas mileage and it alerts you when you need to gas up. I like that it has a push button ignition system with a key fob you insert into the ignition to start the car. The same key fob also locks and unlocks the car without the need for a key.
Cons
No side mirror defrost, which isn't a big turnoff but it is a hassle because the mirrors do tend to fog up or collect ice. When the brakes need replaced you will lose the anti slip and traction control functions until the brakes are replaced. The dash lights will come on to warn you that these functions aren't working.
