2007 Nissan Murano Owner Ratings & Reviews
Write a Review
2007 Nissan Murano - Solid car, but some reliability issues.
Our 2007 Nissan Murano SL served us well for a good six years. When we initially purchased the vehicle, we were impressed with the level of quality that was seen in the interior trim materials. It felt very "fancy" in comparison to our old Mitsubishi Montero, with far more features. It took us some time to get used to all the new things we were able to do within the car. Although it was a great car for about five years, the last year of its life presented us with some difficulties. The notorious CVT transmission began to give us problems at around 80k miles on the odometer. Automatic CVT transmissions are trouble-prone for all vehicles they are used in, but Nissan's particular take on it is the worst offender. It gave out multiple times, each time costing in the thousands to repair. We... (more)
Story
We used the car to take a family trip to the beach. It was big enough to store all the supplies for a family of about ten to have a fun day in the sand.
Pros
The car was very roomy, had adequate power, a lot of nice features, and looked sporty and luxurious. There were a lot of nice things about the car, which is why we tried so much to save it, but it was destined to fail.
Cons
The automatic CVT transmissions, at least the ones of this generation, can (and will) fail. After our experience with it, I have done further research online and found that the CVT transmissions are a huge issue for consumers within the industry.
2007 Nissan Murano - It's fun to drive, but does not have a good take off speed.
It's very spacious and comfortable. They ride of the car is very smooth and it has a great sound system. I like the fact that the gas and break pedals move back and forth to meet my height instead of having to move my seat closer to the steering wheel. As far as performance it does not have good take off speed and it has a hard time getting up hills. I also like that is has east access steering wheel controls. I was also impressed with the miles I get out of my gas, even though it says I get about 16 mpg it actually goes a little further than that and does not take much to fill up. It also has great control and traction.
Story
I went to Daytona Beach for vacation and they have a drive on beach which is when I learned they car has all wheel drive and I enjoyed driving through the sand with ease.
Pros
I love the spaciousness. It's midsize but big enough for me to carry large items by just folding the backseats completely down. I also like that the door compartment's come out to allow for a larger space to store my stuff that may be bulky. The body shape of it is unique and one of its own. I know this may sound odd but I like that they put a decent grade of floor carpeting in it, that actually allows for the dirt to come out of it rather than just rolling around on the floor when trying to vacuum. I'm also glad everything is automatic.
Cons
I don't like that there is only one keyhole entrance on the driver side, so I always have to walk on that side to access it. I also for some reason do not like the flat shape of the dash board. The digital screen is very basic and I believe should have more features. I also do not like the shape of the whole radio and the position it sits in.
