2001 Nissan Maxima - A car that is reliable, inexpensive to maintain, and keep
I purchased this car used from my mother who drove it for years. The main plan was to pass this car on to my teenage son that would be driving soon. I was impressed with the power and comfort of this car. It had a computer issue when I bought it and was impressed with the ease and affordability of replacing the parts needed. Not to mention the availability of parts is nice, as well. This car has exceptionally high mileage now (305,000 miles), and I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere. It has taken me across the country and on several three-hour trips without ever giving me any trouble or leaving me stranded. Story
As I have no truck and enjoy home projects, one memorable time I had was loading the trunk and pass through with materials and crowding my wife in her seat due to the length of some of the material.
Pros
Affordability of maintaining and driving this car. Insurance is not high, and the power is great given the mileage and age of the vehicle. It really holds up and well worth the money spent on it.
Cons
The speakers quit working, and the door locks are sticking due to them not being used as often as they should. I wish the pass through trunk area was a bit larger.
2001 Nissan Maxima - Awesome car to drive.
With a free-revving V6 engine, the Nissan Maxima has always been the mid-size sedan of choice for those who place driving enjoyment high on their priority list. The Maxima's credentials are impressive. All models come standard with a 222-horsepower V6 engine that is one of the best, if not the best, available today. A rigid chassis fitted with a sports suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, high-performance tires, and a five-speed manual gearbox give the Maxima a sporty demeanor, while sporty styling makes it look ready for action. The Maxima is practical as well, with roomier front seats and a bigger trunk than the Accord or the Camry.
Story
I let my friend drive without a license and we got pull over but before they caught up to us we switch seats. They suspected he was driving and said they’d take his prints off the wheel as evidence, but at this time, I was kind of annoyed because I really didn’t think I’d been driving. I told them obviously they’d find my prints on the wheel because it was my car. They kept saying, “We think h... (more)
