2011 Nissan Altima - One of the best cars I have ever owned
I love my car. It's the first new car I actually bought myself, and I did a lot of research. It gets great gas mileage, especially on the highway. I bought the car because, at the time, I had a 100-mile round trip commute every day. I also had 500+ miles every month for custody issues. Since I bought the car, I've put over 150,000 miles on it, and the only serious problem was with the transmission. It's also very roomy. I've done NY to FL road trips several times with two dogs and two people. All the luggage fit in the trunk, and there was plenty of room inside the cabin. The stereo system is more than adequate for what is basically just a family car. My teenage son hooks up his phone to it every time he gets in the car. Story
I was on my way to see my family and the normal route was closed. The road detoured and then just dropped me in the middle of a residential area. I ended up driving around for two hours, trying to get out. By the time I figured out where I was, I was more than 100 miles out of the way. Fortunately, because my car is so good on gas, I was able to continue on my way.
Pros
It gets great gas mileage. The gas tank has a large capacity so fill ups are spread further apart. It handles well in the rain. It has a very tight turning radius. It's very roomy and has a massive amount of trunk space.
Cons
It doesn't handle well in the wind. When the transmission went, it was extremely expensive to repair. The paint is chipping already.
2014 Nissan Altima - Smooth slick ride 2014 Nissan Altima.
I really fell in love with the Nissan Altima when I had a rental car during a trip. It was very smooth to drive and accurate during turns. The ac is cold and has dual sides. The car has a cd player and awesome radio. Never failed to impress me and I still love it one year later.
Story
Well, I drove the car to a military base in Georgia to see my son in the Army. I drove over 10 hours straight and even slept in the seat. It was wonderful trip.
Pros
I really like the shiny appearance of the outside of the vehicle looks cool and sleek. It has ample room in the front and back for passengers. A lot of storage room in the trunk. I really enjoy the automatic windows, transmission, and the dash that tells you if you need an oil change or tires rotated. You can not neglect this car. It drives smooth and automatic seat adjuster for the driver.
Cons
The top problem with this vehicle is that sometimes when you put the car in drive, it loses power and takes awhile to gain speed. This can happen in the middle of traffic or even starting the car. It is also a gas eater taking almost $45.00 to fill up. It burns gas fast and won't run smooth unless the tank is full. I also had a check engine light come on at 40,000 plus miles. I was told by the dealership as long as the check engine light wasn't flashing, it was ok to drive. It took them over two weeks to diagnose the code and then the check engine light shut off the day before.
