1997 Nissan Altima - The best car I've ever owned or driven.
To find a car I wanted to buy, I rented them for a 400-mile trip I had to make bimonthly. This was the sixth car I tested and I knew the first minute I drove it that it would be the one I'd buy. It had superior comfort and handling, felt solid, had unexpected power and drove like a car that would cost $20,000 more than what I'd pay.
Story
My twins were in grammar school when I bought this car and they just recently graduated from college -- it has been "our car" almost their entire lives and has hauled them and their friends to countless baseball, basketball, soccer games and swim meets.
Pros
This car feels like it was made for me. It is incredibly comfortable for my height and body size -- like putting on a well-fitting pair of jeans. It still handles like a new car (no vibrations, no noises, no "loose" feeling) after 118,000 miles. I've had to do VERY little repair maintenance on the car for the number of years I've had it and the mileage. I has been 100% reliable. It has surprising room inside (more than newer cars by far), and a roomy trunk area.
Cons
I have NO negative things to report about this car. I never expected it to last this long, especially with all the trouble-free mileage I've had. I've even written to the manufacturer in praise of this car.
2006 Nissan Altima - Solid car
My car is a Nissan Altima. It is a reliable car that has 150,000 miles on it. It was purchased in 2006. It is not the most glamorous car, but it has gotten me to all my destinations with little problems. Even after all the miles that have been put on it, it still runs very well. I have not had to spend much money on mechanical issues throughout the years. It has been first by my father and then me.
Story
I drove this car while on my first date when I was in high school. It was a great experience for me.
Pros
I did not have to worry about many mechanical issues that could have been expensive and led to me not having a car. The car is also moderately comfortable and decent looking. The A/C and radio have both worked well the whole time that the car has been running. The car can seat five people, which is a good amount. It also has automatic controls, which are much easier then using stick shift.
Cons
The car is very average looking. It has an ugly tan color. I wish the car had been black or red instead. It does not have an iPhone connector to listen to music, because it is too old. The seats are also not leather, which I would have preferred.
