The Nissan Altima GXE is a pretty reliable vehicle considering it had over 200,000 miles on it when I purchased it, and it still continues to get me from point A to point B. The vehicle is relatively good on gas, approximately 25 miles to the gallon. It doesn't cost a fortune to fill it up since the gas tank only holds 15 gallons. I dislike that the dealer has discontinued a lot of dealer only parts, such as certain hoses which are a necessary item and can only be obtained from a junk yard or you have to improvise. I like that the trunk has an arm rest in the back seat that opens up to the trunk, so if you have to haul something oversized like lumber or shades, it will fit and you can still close the trunk! Overall, the year of this car is the preferred model, as newer models of the A... (more)
Story
Carrying cut lumber in the trunk through to the front the car to fix a screen door with my elderly mother in the passenger seat.
Pros
A/C works and is cold, relatively good gas mileage, comfortable seats, and has a timing chain and not a belt.
Cons
Some parts have been discontinued by the manufacturer, and insurance is somewhat higher for this type of vehicle. Parts cost more for imports, and not every mechanic knows how to work on it! Has a tendency to blow oil on the distributor and short it out, hence needing a distributor replacement.

It is a good dependable car with great gas mileage. I bought it cash and it has lasted an additional 50,000 miles that I have put on it. When I bought it, it was used with about 100,000 miles on it, which is a good bit. Luckily, it still runs very well. It does go through oil a bit fast, but if you keep that checked, it can last for a long time. I have never had any issues with the radio or electronics. I do appreciate the distance until empty feature since it gives me a better idea of how much gas that I have left. I haven't had any major repairs since I got the car. I do keep maintenance up though and a great thing about a Nissan Altima is you can take it anywhere to get fixed- not just a dealership which could rip you off. I do not necessarily like the interior. It has not held up a... (more)
Story
t is spacious and can fit a lot of people. We drove it to a hike and with all the windows and sunroof down- I couldn't even smell anyone in a car of 4 smelly people.
Pros
Positive- gas mileage and cheap to fix Favorite feature- distance until empty
Cons
Negative- goes through oil, interior

We went to the dealership late one evening, just expecting to look at a few cars, but they made it very easy for us to purchase a new vehicle right away. We drove home with a new car that night. Several of the employees had to stay at work late to help us with our new car. They also did everything they could do get us a super low interest rate.

The staff at Pohanka Nissan of Fredericksburg were very friendly. They spent time working with me to get the best deal on my vehicle at the time and ensured that I got all the options I wanted for it. They didn't really pressure me even though it took over a week before I finally settled on the Xterra.
