The Nissan Altima SR is a fantastic car for anyone who needs a safe, reliable, and practical vehicle for everyday use but who also wants to have something a bit more sporty and fun to drive than your average sedan on the market. The Altima looks like your average modern Nissan sedan with a sport twist to it. Additionally, it has great handling and performance, is reliable and safe, easy to get used to, and has plenty of storage and room. I could fit several sets of golf clubs in the trunk and still have space to put groceries! For a midsize sedan, it feels very roomy and not crowded at all, even in the back seats.
Story
I remember taking it back from the dealership and putting the car in sport mode and driving on the Blue Ridge Parkway through North Carolina. The car handles the curves extremely well, and it was a very comfortable drive despite all the twists and turns, ups and downs of that road. It almost felt like driving on a road course through the mountains! Brought back the old days of racing cars in v... (more)
Pros
One of the best things about the vehicle is that the seats are incredibly comfortable. Designed by NASA, the seats are ergonomically engineered to greatly reduce fatigue when driving long distances. The paddle shifters, though not necessary, are a lot of fun if you want to have even more of a sporty feel to the car when you drive it. And despite the increased performance, very little fuel economy is sacrificed, and the car still gets an excellent 37 miles to the gallon (highway). You can feel like a race car driver without actually having to be one!
Cons
The only thing I really don't care for about this vehicle is that compared to most other makes on the market, the 2017 Altima is lacking in the technology and entertainment areas. It comes only with a standard stereo system with Bluetooth and USB, plus radio and CD and such. Most competition would have the Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Also, specific to the SR trim, a lot of the safety features like intelligent cruise control, automatic braking, etc. are not present on it, perhaps due to the sport style and vision for the car as opposed to a 'regular' sedan for everyday use.

Very good deal for the money. Drives very smooth and feels like a sports car. Very good interiors, sleek appearance. Wish it got better gas mileage but is okay. It has held up well and has needed very little maintenance after the first 50,000 miles (I drive a lot for work).
Story
I drove this car from San Diego to San Francisco! The drive took a few days because I stopped in a few cities, including LA and Santa Barbara, to pick up friends and get food/drinks. I'm planning another road trip in this car from San Diego to Nashville this summer.
Pros
My favorite thing about the car is how sporty it is. It looks very sleek and modern and drives very smoothly. It honestly feels like a more expensive car when driving it and reminds me of a BMW. It's also surprisingly roomy for a sedan, and all my long legged friends can sit comfortably in it. It's all in all a very cute car and it looks more expensive than it is.
Cons
I wish its gas mileage was better. It gets about 30 mpg but Sentras (the other car I was considering, which is also a Nissan model) get about 40 mpg, so I feel a bit ripped off in that regard. I think Maximas, the next model up, also get better mileage. Highway is about 38 mpg and non-highway is 28, but I live in the city so haven't really been able to maximize my gas mileage. Mine is hovering around 30 mpg on average right now.
