2010 Mitsubishi Outlander - Not Satisfied
The quality of this vehicle is poor. The fabric on the seats frayed within 6 months of owning this brand new vehicle. I have also had electrical issues with this vehicle since 3 months after purchase; this includes Bluetooth connectivity and the buttons on the steering wheel not functioning. About 1 year after purchase, the fan motor stopped working for the air conditioning/heating system which I had to leave it at the dealer for over a day. The factory tires only last up to 30,000 miles which I think is a rip off and after 6 months of owning the vehicle they actually came apart and started leaking air which required a replacement. There have been so many recalls with this vehicle, at least one every year including the fan motor I had replaced and numerous belts in the engine. I do lik... (more)

I do like how the vehicle looks, it has a very modern and unique front end and I love the color which is a graphite gray. It is not too big and has just enough space to function. Mechanically it runs okay. It makes strange noises but it still drives. I wish it got better fuel mileage and I think this vehicle was over-priced at $28,000.
Being able to use the LATCH system.

I like the color and body style. The interior being black and gray and having small accents of leather. I like the Bluetooth when it works properly.

2007 Mitsubishi Outlander - Travel companion!
I bought my Outlander, used second-hand ten years after it was manufactured. I didn't really have any expectations for it, I just needed something in decent condition that I could afford to buy upfront. I absolutely love it and never thought I would be an SUV person. It currently has 189,000 miles on it, and I still drive it out of state on multiple occasions without any problems, the longest trip being from Pennsylvania to Florida and back.

Just this past summer, my boyfriend and I, who live in Central Virginia, were invited to a wedding in Panama City, Florida. We were considering the option of renting a nice looking car that we could show off since we were all staying in apartments on the beach that week. Plus, we were a little hesitant with driving a 10+ year old car a thousand miles away from home. We ended up taking the Outlander, mostly as a means to save a little vacation money, and it turned out to be an absolute blast! The ride on the highway, even for an older model pushing 180,000 miles, was incredibly smooth, and we stopped at various places along the way. We put the back-row seats down and we set up the trunk area with blankets, pillows and junk food as we camped out overnight in a national park, watching the stars. The boyfriend is over 6 ft, and he and I both slept so comfortably in that thing. We often keep blankets and pillows in the back just because we travel and joyride a lot. While we were in Florida, the apartment complex we stayed in had a very tight spaced multilevel garage...one morning as I was backing out of our parking stall, because there's such little space between the stalls and the outer barrier, I accidentally hit the wall as I backed out. I was in a little bit of a panic as the sound of the impact was loud, and I definitely felt it from the front seat. When I got out to see how much damage it caused, no joke, there wasn't even so much as a scratch. This thing is an absolute beast! The Outlander is definitely getting old, and we're flirting with the 200K miles, but this car has turned into a travel companion. We plan on holding on to this thing for dear life until she's ready to pass on.
Lasts an incredibly long time if it's well maintained. So much space that you wouldn't necessarily expect just by looking at it from the outside. I've taken it on multiple camping and beach trips, and have setup the back trunk area as a makeshift emergency bed (with the second-row seats still up). I've slept in this thing many times, quite comfortable during long road trips, as well as camping and beach outings. Also, I often drive about seven hours from Virginia to Pennsylvania (a diverse mix of rural, highway and DC traffic) and only ever spend about half a tank of gas each way. Currentl... (more)

Currently in VA, gas runs about $3.50 a gallon and the Outlander takes about $40 to fill, so big win!
It isn't exactly the most aerodynamic vehicle because of the size and shape, so you do have to be cautious, especially when turning off of a highway ramp. It could look just a little less bulky from the outside, but the space is amazing! My next car is definitely going to be a newer model, and I replaced the stereo console as it was a little outdated even for being a 2007, but otherwise this thing is a beast!

2012 Mitsubishi Outlander - Proud to own it
I was not in the market for a Mitsubishi nor an SUV, but I was persuaded to look at one from a friend who works for the Mitsubishi plant. Upon test driving the vehicle and reviewing all of its features I found myself in favor of the Outlander because of the ease of driving it, the overall size, and the particular features of the vehicle I ultimately selected.

I am newer to the state and area in which I reside. The in-dash GPS has been extremely helpful in navigating the area. One year when going away on business, I let my in-laws borrow my vehicle since they were staying at my house. They are not from the area either. I was able to program local stores and restaurants to help them navigate through town. This was highly valuable.

The Mitsubishi Outlander I purchased came with a sunroof, which was high on my list of priorities. It also has leather seats which are heated, and power doors and windows. Another feature that I appreciate is the traction selection. Because of the cold winters where I live, having traction for snow is helpful. It came equipped with a multi-media center including in-dash navigation, Bluetooth capabilities, and a Bose stereo system. The vehicle has had no maintenance issues in the three and a half years I have owned it.

The seats can be a little uncomfortable on long drives. My family travels often, so this has caused some concern occasionally. The optional third row is only a partial row with removable seats. As such, the seats can be difficult to assemble. I would prefer better gas mileage and a larger tank. The tank is only about 13 gallons.
