My 2002 Mini Cooper is a great compact car. Not only does it get great gas mileage it handles really well. There is little to none body roll on turns and I've only had to replace the thermostat because the previous owner neglected the car. The speaker system is quite loud and the car runs nice and quiet.
Story
I would say when my thermostat went out I had to keep the car moving or it would overheat! It wasn't exactly fun but it was memorable because my girlfriend and I had a big laugh after we got home at how crazy it all was!
Pros
The top positive things about my Mini would include: sunroof provides some great breeze on hot days. The moon roof is great at night for backseat passengers bored of watching the road. The steering is really tight, which is great for quick passes or tight turns. Also, I can fit into any spot I choose!
Cons
The only cons I can think of would be the hydraulic lifters make a little bit of noise if you put the wrong oil in. This is obviously user error so it's not really a con. The only other thing would be that the door handle on the drivers side stopped working, which is an easy fix so it's not really a big deal.
