2007 Mercury Mountaineer Owner Ratings & Reviews
Write a Review
2007 Mercury Mountaineer - I received great enjoyment driving this wheel because of the way it handles the road being a female driver.
I purchased black because it was my favorite color. I purchased the vehicle brand new off the showroom for as a birthday gift to myself. I like that the vehicle was full-size and extra seating for long travels. I enjoyed how the truck handled the road and the headlights gave great view for night driving. I must say, it is a beautiful truck. It has lived up to be a great good running high quality truck. I female or parents putting there child in it would feel safe.
Story
I had the most fun traveling over the road to new Mexico with friends. We got lost and had never been so excited to see the police to escort us back to civilization, that wrong turn could have been a horror story. We were afraid adults in the woods.
Pros
It was loaded, navigation, sunroof, drop down running board, headed seats, leather interior, so many more bells to mention. This truck is a horse. I always feel save driving this vehicle. Funny thing, passengers can never get out of the vehicle due to the unique door handle and child-lock rear doors. You have ask to unlock the doors to get out. Cool features I must say.
Cons
My dislikes are no dip stick for checking the transmission. And most times, if I need any repairs and attempt to go to some standard auto repair shops in the neighbor, most mechanics don't know who to service this vehicle. I always end up back at dealer paying extra for something minor. This was not a cheap purchase, I wish I had done more research. I now feel that I would have purchased it used, and maybe not this vehicle because its too high maintenance for no reason.
2007 Mercury Mountaineer - Reliable
The 2007 Mercury Mountaineer Premier has been a very reliable vehicle for us. It has several upgraded options, including a DVD entertainment system, navigation system, cruise control, steering wheel controls, sunroof, leather, power seats, heated seats, third-row seating, power pedals, towing and all-wheel drive. Gas mileage on the highway in our V8 is around 20 mpg. The middle-row seats can fold forward and collapse into cargo mode, which gives plenty of space for loading things like bags of mulch.
Story
We've been able to take it on vacations, but with the third row, we were able to include other family members to ride along, which made our vacation even better.
Pros
My favorite features are the heated seats, entertainment system, and all-wheel drive. It also has keyless entry. By entering a code on the door, you are able to unlock the car. This is a very nice feature that has kept us from being locked out of our car numerous times. In the five years we've owned it, nothing major in the engine or transmission have needed to be repaired.
Cons
The gas mileage in the city is around 15 mpg. In the five years that we have owned it, all four wheel bearings have had to be replaced, at around $300 for each one.
