2006 Mercury Montego - Not for those in their 20's
The Mercury Montego is a comfortable car, very safe, and quite big compared to other vehicles. I purchased it quickly after having an accident and not being able to drive my smaller sedan any more. This used car offered the comfort and peace of mind of safety in its size and weight. Now that the accident is many years in the past, I don't care for the vehicle any more. Yes, the leather seats are nice, but it doesn't have the extra amenities that I would like such as auxiliary audio input, seat warmers, etc.
Pros
Safety and comfort are the best features of this vehicle. The leather seats are comfortable and the back seat has lots of room, although it rarely gets used as this is mostly used for commuting alone or driving with my husband. We don't have children to sit in the back yet. It handles well for a large car, it does have all-wheel drive. Other than typical maintenance, oil changes and service, I haven't had to put any extra money into the vehicle. It is very reliable.
Cons
Gas mileage is not competitive with comparable FWD or RWD vehicles. I get between 20 and 23 mpg. It's not very sporty or young-feeling. Definitely an older person's vehicle.
