2015 Mercedes-Benz E-Class - The Most Advanced Car available today...That no one knows about
The future is here -- self-driving cars. No longer just restricted to Google and a few other manufacturers, you can actually BUY one! Granted, this one's crippled by DOT/NHTSA's archaic rules dating back to 1963, but even with those limitations it's amazing. I actually look forward to traffic jams -- even more time to sit back and enjoy this wonderful machine while the car accelerates, brakes, steers, and fights off tailgaters all at once. Yes, it actually will start slowing down / increasing following distance from the car in front of you if some jerk starts tailgating you. Likewise, if some idiot cuts you off, it'll respond all by itself and swerve/brake/avoid hitting them.
But wait, there's still the rest of the car! So it drives for you, great! This just gives you more time to so... (more)

But wait, there's still the rest of the car! So it drives for you, great! This just gives you more time to soak in the real wood paneling, over-engineering, attention to detail, fine sculpted lines, slick interior lighting, etc. Or maybe you'd prefer to listen (and watch!) A nice live concert on the dash from the built-in DVD player and enjoy the car's full surround sound system. While getting the back massage. In 10+ miles of stop-and-go traffic. While everyone else around you is miserable. And you've got a big grin on your face because your car's driving and you're snuggling up in the Brookstone-like massage chair driver's seat.
The car (by itself) has saved me from 3 accidents so far over the past 15,000 miles. If I was in an ordinary car for any of these, I'd likely have been involved in a collision if not in an ambulance/hospital.

The first one was when I was driving on a major road and some old lady didn't stop on one of the cross streets. My Mercedes saw it, stood on the brakes by itself, and the collision was avoided. I was a bit shaken by it, but that was all.
The second time was driving at night and a deer ran out in front of the car. We definitely made eye contact, but the car didn't make contact with the deer. Instead it stood on the brakes and swerved around the deer.
The third time was when I was coming to a stop behind a line of traffic at a red light. I was almost stopped but the guy behind me was still going full throttle. My car served into the turn lane to my right and hit the gas. The guy behind me creamed the minivan that was in front of me.
The car still amazes me. I hope I'm never in a collision, but if I am it's currently the safest car on the road today.
Self-driving... Other manufacturers claim they have products like this, but I've driven all of them -- no one else's comes close.
The HK surround system is quite good. Very well balanced. Bass is tight and only present if it's in the actual recording. Build quality's definitely above the Japanese offerings.
What amazes me is after 15,000 miles, with about 90%-95% of those being driven by the car itself, is that I keep finding more and more areas of over-engineering and thoughtfulness by Mercedes' engineers. No detail is too small to be looked at. For example, the reading lights for the... (more)

No detail is too small to be looked at. For example, the reading lights for the front seats are different for left-hand drive and right-hand drive countries. The lenses actually turn to minimize the amount of light hitting the driver's eyes.
The dealers. Some of them are worse than Kia dealerships. From sales staff that refused to show me any cars unless I was buying TODAY! To service departments which know less about the car than I do. The dealers are the low point. Fortunately Mercedes is an established brand so there's plenty of them to choose from. When you do find a good one it's more like a concierge than dealership. With 10,000-12,000 miles between service intervals you won't be seeing much of them any way.

1997 Mercedes-Benz E-Class - It was the best first car
I got a great deal as a second owner of my Mercedes E320. It was my first car, and it had everything that a first car should and then some. It had all electric accessories: seat adjustments, windows, adjustable steering wheel, side view mirrors, sunroof, window shade in the back window, locks, everything. I've never had an engine problem since I have owned the car, and as far as I know, neither did the first owner. What few problems I have had with the car were due to being rear ended by a drunk, which brings us to one of the few negatives I have had with my car. The repairs are expensive. And there isn't really a way to get it properly repaired without shelling out money, short of knowing how to do it yourself. So it's lucky I haven't had engine trouble. And there isn't really a way to get it properly repaired without shelling out money, short of knowing how to do it yourself. So it's lucky I haven't had engine trouble. There are two other problems I have had with the car in the 10 years I've had it are that the check engine light does come on at the slightest provocation (most of the time there isn't actually a problem, about half of these times it was actually just telling me I hadn't put the gas cap on tight enough) and a more recent problem that is my fault: I broke one of the clips that secure the turn signal bar. It still works, but it is now all floppy instead of the resistance it is supposed to have. For its age the car gets pretty good mileage (20 MPG with regular unleaded, better mileage if you use higher quality gas) The seats are really comfortable, there's a lot of storage space in the console and glove box. I love my car, and am very glad this is the one I chose when I was shopping. A lot of people get rid of a new car before ten years, and I have stuck with my car for ten years, and it was already 8 years old when I bought it.
It was a great deal since I bought it used
I've never had engine trouble
It is so comfortable
It elevates my social station based on appearances
I get a lot of comments about how nice my car is

High repair cost
It is difficult to find parts when something does go wrong, or they are expensive

1998 Mercedes-Benz E-Class - This was such a sturdy spacious car. It could fit 6 people comfortably. The model was a great ride as well very smooth.
My e320 was a very sophisticated yet sporty car. It was great for long drives anywhere. It is a comfortable car with leather seats and the seats had warmers in the seats. It was great in the winter as well as the summer, it has a nice wide sun roof for a nice breeze when needed. The only real con about the car was the gas could be a little costly and parts could be expensive. But overall it is a totally great car. I would definitely buy another car like this one. It also had seats in the back where the trunk is, it converts to 2 seats for children or a small adult comfortably with seat belts and everything. It was a sturdy car that made me feel secure and safe on the road.

Me and my best friend took her daughter and my son to jones beach at night and parked on the sand opened the back up and had a nice picnic dinner together while music played from the car.
