2008 Mazda Tribute Owner Ratings & Reviews

2008 Mazda Tribute - Reliable and powerful
The v6 variant of the Mazda Tribute provides enough additional engine power to make it a fast and fun to drive vehicle. The power of the v6 is also more than sufficient for towing/transporting cargo, making it a great homeowner's truck. At the same time, the steering is responsive enough to make it a fun and nimble vehicle to drive. Overall, it combines the best aspects of a sedan and truck into a great mid-size SUV.
Story
Driving my Mazda Tribute across the state was fun. It's a very comfortable vehicle for long highway drives.
Pros
Engine power, handling/steering quality, interior comfort.
Cons
Gas mileage is not great.
2008 Mazda Tribute - Comfortable, fuel efficient
I purchased this vehicle used. I loved the features it had, which included a sunroof, leather interior, and aux connection. I use this vehicle to travel to and from work, but we also use it to go on family trips. It is very spacious for a smaller SUV, with seating for 5 people, and a large storage area in the back. The vehicle itself drives smoothly, and is fairly fuel efficient. I typically can get 24 mpg with it. These are mostly highway/interstate miles.
Story
Husband and I went on a camping trip. After we got to the location, we realized we had packed everything except the tent. Not wanting to risk getting wet from the oncoming rain, we folded the back seat down and were able to put the air matress in it! It was definitely a memorable experience! Not to mention, the terrain was very rocky and steep in places. The vehicle had no issues traveling to ... (more)
Pros
The heated seats are amazing during the winter. I like that they heat all the way up your back. Plus, the back row seating folds down if you need to transport larger objects in the back. My favorite feature is the built in auxiliary connection, which allows me to hook up my iPod, or smartphone. As I mentioned earlier, it gets decent gas mileage. Front and rear windshield wipers are a definite plus as well. The all wheel drive feature is wonderful for the area I live in. I have never had an issue getting stuck in the snow or mud.
Cons
The only issue I have come across since owning this vehicle is the transmission went out on it around 130k miles. Which, as we know, can be very costly to replace. Other than this, I have not had any other issues.
