2002 Mazda Tribute - It has been a practical and useful nice looking car and has aged well. I would buy a vehicle like this again.

This is a nice looking vehicle that is easy to drive and not too big. It functions well especially as I have to haul loads of yard supplies or stuff to the recycle center. The back seats are super easy to get up and down and holds more than one would think. I love the gray cloth seats. It doesn't show dirt easily and is not hot or cold with temperature changes in the weather. I have had no issues with the SUV and only regular maintenance. It's not a big deal, but the shininess of the paint has remained pretty much the same from it's newer days. Amazingly so. It is a very sturdy vehicle and functions very well. I will say that the CD player is a little touchy, but it still works after all this time as does the radio. I like the rear window wiper and wash. That was a surprise as I had ne... (more)
Story
Where I live there is no garbage pickup, and I have to drive it to the recycle center myself. I had the back opened and loading brush and trash and a bag of garbage when a deer came up to the back door and was eating leaves off of the branches I had loaded in the car. The sun roof is also a lot of fun to have.
Pros
The size of it and the cloth seats and how convenient it is to operate all of its features.
Cons
I don't care for the cloth panels on the doors, and it's top heavy on curves. It's not very economical on gas.

2002 Mazda Tribute - Great little SUV.

I love the compactness of this SUV. It is very cheap on gas. I get great gas mileage with this vehicle. I've never had any issues with this vehicle since I've owned it except for changing tires and brakes. The cons though of this SUV is it rusts very badly just under the doors. It's under each door as you open it.
Story
It was right after I bought it. My kids were so excited about having it because it was our first SUV the we bought. We decided to take it on a road trip to the lake in the next county and to get there you have to go through some pretty rough terrain and back woods areas. My daughter who was just over one and out of diapers had to pee. She couldn't wait, so I pulled over and put her in the back... (more)
Pros
The top positive about this vehicle is the fact that it gets great gas mileage, and I love the fact that all parts under the hood have never needed any work or anything to be changed under the hood. I love that I've only had to buy new tires and brakes since I've owned it.
Cons
The top negative is the rust. I hate that all the doors inside have rusted very badly. That's the only negative I have about this SUV. It's great in all other aspects except for the rusty areas.
