2010 Mazda RX-7 - I love the look and the driving experience of this car.

The one thing that I really love about this car is the size of it. From always owning small compact cars but wanting an SUV this crossover is the perfect step for me, when trying to find a SUV I was overwhelmed with the size of most of them out there and I found myself not feeling comfortable behind the wheel of them. When I tried out this Mazda RX-7 the I was comfortable and found the size to be perfect for what I wanted and needed, it gave me a little more room than what I was use to but not to much that I felt lost. The one thing that I disliked about it at first was this annoying dinging that would sound at odd times, I could not for the life of me figure it out and it was starting to get frustrating. I tried doing research online about the problem but I did not have any luck locat... (more)
Story
The only memorable story I have using this vehicle around my location was one day when I was shopping with my son and we were finished and walking back to the vehicle. I happened to be parked next to a similar looking car and when my son and I came around this other car to get to ours we see this women looking frazzled with her hand on my door handled, I say excuse me is there something I can ... Pros
The top positive things of this vehicle is the blind spot package. The blind spot package comes in really handy when you are driving down the highway in traffic but the traffic is still moving pretty freely, it give you an extra set of eyes in way because it gives you a back up for knowing when there is enough space between you and the car next to or behind you so you can move over with a little less nervousness. Another feature that I find to be a positive is the back up camera, it really comes in handy when you need to parallel park between two cars and no one is with you to help you. Th... (more)
Cons
As much as I love the vehicle and have a lot of positive things to say about it there are a few negative things about it also. The one thing I find to be the most negative is the fuel efficiency, I would have liked for it to get better gas mileage per tank than it does. Some of the negative things that I have come across also happen to be part of the positive things that I love. I really feel like there are good and bad points to everything, for example for as much as I love the blind spot package there is a negative aspect to it also. Sometimes when I am driving down a road without other ... (more)

My vehicle is a 1984 Mazda Rx-7. It's an old car and has old parts under the hood, but it's a great car. It performs well in terms of speed and maneuverability, being a sports car, but it's not very good on gas mileage because it has a four-barrel carburetor inside of it. For the engine's size which is a rotary engine and only 1.1 liter, it is very quick. I like the sportiness of the car and the physical look of it as a sports car, which looks even sportier because it has a body kit on it. I also like the interior, which is as old school as the car itself: all original with a tape player and velvet upholstery. I generally get a compliment almost everywhere I take the car, whether it's the gas station or grocery store or out to eat. Some people have even offered to buy the car from me. ... (more)
Story
I would be at the gas station, and people would come up to me either complimenting my car or telling me they wanted to buy it and making an offer. This also happened at restaurants, theaters, friends' apartment complexes, and pretty much everywhere I take it.
Pros
There aren't a lot of luxury features with the car since it's so old, but there are lots of positive things about it. First, I bought the car for only 2,500 dollars as a used car when I first purchased it, which is pretty cheap for the value of the car and the enjoyability factor of the car. It's a really fast car and can get 0-60 miles per hour fairly quickly, getting me places fast and allowing the use of aggressive defensive driving. For a rear-wheel drive car, it has really good handling possibly because it's very light. It can take tight turns and drift around curves. The engine is lo... (more)
Cons
For one, the Mazda Rx-7 has bad gas mileage because it has a large carburetor under the hood, and it's not tuned well for having such a small engine. It gets less than ten miles per gallon in the city and maybe just over that on the highway. The engine that the car has also eats a little bit of oil because it is a rotary engine, and oil needs to be added to the engine semi-regularly. The inside of the car is not that classy since it's old and taken a little bit of wear over the years and has minimal technology updates since it was manufactured. Some of the upholstery could use some replace... (more)

I really like this car for its get up and go ability. It was a choice for me between getting this car and getting a bigger Honda SUV. I ultimately went with this car after a test drive, and realizing how zippy it is.
Story
The test drive was great. I was not expecting it to be that fast and accelerate that quickly.
Pros
As I said before, it is very zippy. It just speeds around almost as if it was a go kart. I really also like the gas mileage. It seems like I don't have to stop and get gas as much as I did with my last car. It also looks very sleek and I feel confident riding it around town that I don't look like I'm cheap.
Cons
One con I would list that really isn't a fault of the car itself is that it is so new that I am unsure how it will stand up over the test of time. I want to make sure that it gets me where I need to go into many years in the future. Sometimes I instinctively do not mesh with the in house controls and buttons, but I think that's something that will go away.
