My Mazda is 13 years old and still runs like a champ. I have close to 175,000 miles on it and everything is still functional. The interior is in decent shape and the car itself still looks good. The tank is 18 gallons and I average 400 miles to the tank. One complaint I have is the cost of tires. They are a size that isn't stocked by most tire shops and they average $100-120 each. I have had to order tires every time I need a replacement. Due to this, I keep a full size spare in my trunk. I just replaced the alternator but that is after 175,000 miles. I keep up with regular maintenance and haven't required a major repair yet.
Story
I live in the country and I have a 10 year old nephew who visits periodically. When we are driving down the road to my home, he will stick his head out of the window just like a dog. It makes me happy to see the smile on his face as we drive down the road.
Pros
I like the fact that I get 400 miles to the tank. The design style has remained relevant. When I am in a parking lot, one can't immediately identify my car as an older vehicle. All of the interior features still function and most repairs are financially feasible. Parts are not hard to come by even though the vehicle is 13 years old.
Cons
The tires are an inconvenience. I live in a small town so maybe in a larger city it would not be so difficult to purchase new tires.

I've had this car since I was a junior in high school at 50k miles. Its driven perfectly since the day I got it. Very compact so it's easy to drive but spacious enough on the inside (have slept in it for two music festivals and gone on multiple road trips of 12+ hours in it).
Story
I've taken this car to multiple music festivals, and she has saved the day when our tents get rained out. We know we fit comfortably in here!
Pros
I think this is a very easy to handle car, and it drives very well regardless of conditions. I have driven it in New Jersey east coast salty terrains all the way to humid South Carolina without any problems. I now live in Colorado and still see no decline in performance despite huge altitude and terrain differences.
Cons
My only complaint is that it doesn't have an auxiliary port for the stock model.
