My Mazda3 is exactly what I wanted. I was looking for inexpensive transportation that hopefully will last me at least 15 years.
Pros
The Mazda3 is very sporty looking. I'm happy with the automatic windows and only wish I had ordered the rear window wiper. It gets great gas mileage of at least 33 mpg. It would perhaps get better if I didn't drive over the speed limit so much. The Mazda3 also has plenty of power when I need to pass a car. One of the safety features is that the gas cap unlocks from the inside. It also has side and front air bags, so I feel as safe in this small car as I do in a large car. The trunk is large and the back seats lay down which make it convenient to carry a long item.
Cons
The bucket seats are a bit firm. The Mazda3 that I purchased does not have the electric seat adjustment, so I'm very limited in how I can adjust the seat while driving long distances. Mine is also a 4 door and there's very little leg room in back for an adult. There was a gravel guard under the car that was very low to the ground, but unfortunately that is no longer there from an accident of being caught on a water pipe and ripping off. One of the cons that I have is when the back seats lay down, there's still a divider between the trunk and back seats - so it's not a completely open area ... (more)

My car has performed beyond my expectations. I have not had one mechanical problem with it in two years. It drives like a dream. I owned a BMW before this and this car is a better drive all around.
Story
I found a winding road one early morning and had a great time just driving the tight corners with the great handling.
Pros
I love the handling. It is precise and makes you feel connected to the car. The transmission is perfect and the acceleration is great in any situation. The seats are beyond comfortable. The speakers sound great and the stereo is top notch. The car fits like a glove and feels second nature after only a couple days driving it. I will be purchasing a new one when my time is up with this current Mazda 3.
Cons
The car absorbs every bump and you feel it. It is almost like a sports car. Sometimes the Bluetooth is wonky and you have to figure out what is going on with it.
