This vehicle is the best in its category. I test drove many other similar small SUVs, and the quality of this one exceeded all of them for the price. This vehicle was at least $3,000 cheaper than similar makes, and the quality of this was superior to them all. Specifically, the handling and driving of this car was much better. It is only a four cylinder, but it does not drive like it because of the power behind it. Plus, the steering is just right- not too loose or too tight. The other competitors were very doggy and slow to accelerate. Plus, the gas mileage on the CX-5 was comparable or better to the competitors. The cabin is also quiet and the tan interior option automatically came with leather with quick acting heated seats, which are especially nice in the winter.
Story
We used this vehicle to buy a baby pool for our son. The pool was too big to put in the cargo area, so me and my husband held it on the roof of the car, each with one hand on the one-mile journey home from the store.
Pros
The CX-5 has amazing gas mileage, about 30mpg avg when I drive it. Beautiful tan leather interior with fast acting heated seats. Easy to clean interior carpet and dash. Power, steering, and handling are much better than competitors-it's actually fun to drive. Has a mean looking exterior and is more updated looking than competitors.
Cons
There are a few tiny rust dots on the back bumper of the vehicle, assuming they came from transportation on a train. Sometimes when I press on the gas, the car can lurch forward, as it it's not in the correct gear. The seats aren't very comfortable after a 3hr+ road trip.

2017 Mazda CX-5 - The car is fairly well made. I do not hear any internal rattling having driven over 30,000 miles. However, when driving at a speed over about 50 mph, you can hear the wind easily. The audio of the car is decent but seems to muffle at very high volume leve

I really like the style of the vehicle, it looks great both internally and externally. I dislike the lighter cloth seats in my car as they get dirty really easily and detract from the overall look. I like the feel of the drive, it seems sporty when driving. However, I dislike the feeling when the car is decelerating on its own. When you let go of the gas and aren't pressing the brake you can feel the car drag almost, a feeling I haven't felt driving a car before.
Story
My Mazda helped bring me to my first ever triathlon, transporting my bike I needed for the race. It helped support my addiction to triathlons I now have!
Pros
I love the height of the car, being higher on the road. I also love the versatility of the back seats being able to be easily laid down to increase the square footage of the backseats. This allows me to load lots of things in my back seat and really make moving easy with all the space. I like the backup camera as it really makes the driving experience easier. I also like the feel of driving the vehicle, you feel connected to the road.
Cons
One con is the light cloth seats of the car, they get dirty easily and detract from the look. The biggest con of the car is when lowering the back seats to increase the trunk size, you have to remove the headrests of the back row. It is a pain to have to remove the headrests every time when collapsing the back row and it really should be designed so that is not required every time.
