2003 Lexus LS 430 - I love my car! Great highway car!
This car is awesome!
Story
It got me around during a flood. The car never flooded or stalled. I was located in Fort Pierce at the time. I forgot what hurricane it was, but the lights were off for a week. We even slept in the car for A/C and to be comfortable. I had just had my newborn three weeks before. Were miserable in the house with no air or lights. I thought for sure we would not get through the water to go look f... (more)
Pros
I really loved that this is not a gas drinker on the highway. It rides really Smooth. You can barely hear the outside contents in the car. I love that I barely have to have work on this car but when I do it is costly. I just had to get an used transmission and it rides like new again. I love the gray color because you can barely tell when it is dirty. I love how you can feel the power in the car. I also love the heated and cool seats. I love the vents on the floors. I love the rear seats have heated seats also. I love that the middle ac vents rotate and you can adjust the temperature on ei... (more)
Cons
I hate how riding around town and it drinks up gas! I just hate that it's so expensive to fix. It seems like it's the perfect car for a while, and then, boom, when it needs fixed, it is expensive! I hate how the sun cracks the seats. I hate how the vents in the seats get clogged and air barely populates through. Then when this happens during the summer the seats are scorching hot. Then it's hard to get in the cracks and openings to fully and completely clean the insides. If you have light colored insides, then you can forget keeping it clean. The vents on the floor in the back gets dirty, ... (more)
2001 Lexus LS 430 - OMG
There's no car out there to match Lexus quality, performance. Luxury or dependability (IMO). There is - literally - nothing about the LS series to not like. Surrounded in luxurious leather comfort and elegant walnut wood accents, touch-screen CD/GPS, plenty of power, maneuverability, uber dependability, and it's just downright gorgeous. Mine is black. I only have 185,000 miles on it, and other than some minor ($2500) problem with the rack & pinion steering (a problem it had when I bought it used in 2009), I've spent nothing else on it - other than routine maintenance and 2 flats in seven years. The air conditioner is solid and as cold as the day I bought it, and the Nakamichi sound system is glorious - especially at night with the moon roof open. I still totally love my Lexus!
Story
I bought a Celtic Women CD, and drove up to a red light one balmy night with "Orinoco Flow" blarring out of the moon roof, and I to look over to the car beside mine, and this woman was laughing and giving me a "thumbs up" sign.
Pros
I bought it as my "town car," just to use for the few errands I now make in town during the week. I wanted power - it accelerates like a rocket - comfort, luxury, a sound-system to die for, and a very cold air, and I got all those things, in spades. I like that it can run on regular, if necessary. If I pull into a pump that's out of premium, I can put a tank of regular in it without much anxiety. It's hard to name one feature that's my favorite. I do love the many options for the steering wheel/seats/mirrors, the over-the-top appointments and attention to everything, the sound system, but ... (more)
Cons
There is really and truly nothing negative about my Lexus...maybe I'm lucky. The ONLY thing that's happened that was a little troublesome was I discovered (the hard way) that they can not sit for two weeks without being driven. I was in the hospital, and it sat undriven for that length of time, and the battery was dead as a doornail. These cars (I was told) have electronics running even when they're idle, and need to be driven regularly to keep the battery from being run down. Lesson learned.
