2013 Lexus CT 200h Owner Ratings & Reviews
Write a Review
2013 Lexus CT 200h - Hybrid with style.
Over the last 5 years I've owned, operated, and took care of my 2013 Lexus CT200h. It hasn't given me any real maintenance issues over those 5 years so I really have no complaints there. I've really only brought the car in for regular service maintenance. The performance of the car is so-so, it is a hybrid and I didn't expect it to be a sports car at all. The car looks good (to me) and that's what really drew the car to me.
Story
I enjoy taking my car for a spin once in a while so I took it to an SCCA event just for giggles. The car didn't perform that great but it was fun whipping it around some of those small turns none the less.
Pros
The car looks sleek, especially in the color I purchased. It's a nice electric blue that stands out. The car performs decently well considering it's a hybrid. Over the 5 years I've averaged a little over 40 miles a gallon. I generally use it for only urban commuting with less than 5 miles per drive. As I've done a bit of maintenance, I can say that the maintenance isn't any different than most cars, simple as long as you feel comfortable with maintaining your own car.
Cons
I have one small con for the car. The parts are overpriced considering it's a spruced up Toyota Prius. When I take it into the dealer I feel like they charge me more just because it's a Lexus. I generally don't buy original parts due to the excessive markup on those parts.
2013 Lexus CT 200h - Perfect except for the leg room.
The biggest reason to own this car is the gas mileage. It gets 39-41 miles per gallon highway and city combined. It's extremely nice to pay less than half the cost my Infiniti M35 would take to get the 400-mile range of the CT. If you don't have a need for extreme acceleration, the car is perfect -- except for the one major negative mentioned later: the space in the backseat.
Story
I once went from a gas station off Del Mar Heights Road in North County San Diego to Santa Fe Avenue (about seven miles) without using gas. My car's MPG monitor said 99.9 MPG.
Pros
As previously mentioned, the gas mileage is spectacular. When in stop-and-go traffic I so often encounter in Southern California, the car can go for miles without using any gas. It's very easy to tell whether you're on electric or gas to accelerate. I also love parking it because it can maneuver quickly and easily into almost any size parking spot. The extra features are all I could need (only with the premium version): back-up camera, heated seats, Bluetooth audio, and upgraded speakers.
Cons
The biggest negative is definitely the space in the backseat. There is a serious lack of leg room when the car is completely full, and the person sitting in the middle seat in the back is squished anytime that seat is occupied. The trunk is also a little bit small. It's hard to fit two sets of golf clubs in there, for example.
