They are great cars if you buy one brand new as the dealers are brilliant. They will come drop off another car while yours is looked at and they will replace anything that might cause an issue. They will be the best friend and remember your kid's birthday.
Story
My brother and his family were driving to Whistler in their Land Rover for their kids spring break. A couple hours in, the thing breaks down and my dad and I have to drive out and pick them up. Now they're at our house waiting for the thing to get fixed, and their vacation is put on hold.
Pros
Simply put, these cars are engineered for the first owner -- the person who wants all the cool gadgets when they first come out. That person gets a new one after two-four years, and then the car moves on to the second owner, the third owner, and it gets older and older, and more and more worn out.
Cons
They aren't designed to last beyond the warranty period, or even that, to be honest.
