The Land Rover is an excellent, durable vehicle. I live on a mountain in Oregon that is 6,000 feet up. There is three miles of vertical, muddy/dirt roads that I must climb in order to reach my home. This three mile stretch is not maintained by anyone but me. In two feet of snow or more, this is where the Land Rover starts to decline and a regular box Jeep does the best. The Jeep is better balanced and not as heavy as the Land Rover. Also, chains are more easily accessible. The only chains that work on the Land Rover, you must buy from the manufacturer and they run $700.
Story
To reach my home, you must drive up three miles of dirt roads. I love tackling them every day. It is a great off-road adventure.
Pros
I like the many windows, no blind spots. Very bright and roomy on the inside. Always starts right up. Also, very visually appealing. The vehicle says go, drive and have fun.
Cons
The electronics of the vehicle: if anything has a hiccup, the control panel lights up. Though in most cases, there is actually nothing wrong with the vehicle, but for some reason, the electronics had a glitch. Once restarted, the control panel lights go away. Also, the electronic mechanism on the back hatch...I have replaced it three times. It is now broke again, the only way to get the back hatch open is a manual trick I had to look up on the internet. Most of us buy cars for our personal use. I bought this car because I like the controls and systems. It is easy to drive, and I am not a good driver! But after driving this car, I feel like I am a better driver. I can travel on tough roads and hard-to-get destinations with this car. It has never disappointed me. Repair costs are low. Maintenance is easy. I love this car.
Story
I forgot to put the emergency brake on the car once. It was parked on a slope, and it started to slide backwards. I ran to get in it. It was unforgettable.
Pros
Easy handling, easy maintenance, more comfortable than any other car, good mileage (compared to other SUVs) , total cost good value for money, powerful engine, and can easily take on any hard roads.
Cons
Not good for new drivers. It takes up more space on the road than other cars. Traffic will be your enemy. If a tire is punctured, you are in trouble.
