2016 Kia Soul - A very comfortable and fun ride. A lot of amenities for a low cost.

I liked that even though I bought a compact car, I felt like I was riding in a small SUV. I did not feel so small when driving the car around. In addition, I enjoyed that I could sit in the car for hours without feeling overly uncomfortable. There was excessive arm and leg space that prevented me from feeling like I was in a tiny car. I disliked that the car had all electrical features until it came down to seat adjustments. I could never get the adjustment just right because I would either pull too far forward or slide too far back when grabbing the seat adjustment lever. Engine performance was inconsistent. I noticed in the colder temperatures the car would ride sluggish and also when I would enter the freeway. In the warmer temperatures, the car would zip around no problem for the m... (more)
Story
One memorable moment I had in the Kia Soul was a road trip I took with friends from California to Florida. We visited a lot of locations on the way in and around the car, and it was amazing.
Pros
Roomy. the car could fit five comfortably. In addition, the back row would lay down and create a nice spacious area for the drive-in theaters or even for a quick nap during road trips. Small and compact. I could park and fit almost anywhere, and that means a lot when living in Los Angeles and having to resort to street parking outside of my apartment. Even though the vehicle was small, it felt like I was sitting higher than other compact vehicles. Sound system. For a base model vehicle, the sound system was great, it had just enough bass to rattle the side mirrors but enough treble to thor... (more)
Cons
Weak A/C. The air conditioning in the vehicle never got quite cold enough. I live in 90+ degree weather for about eight months out of the year. It is essential. I disliked that I had to put it on full blast to get a nice chill. I like the gas it saves me. I don't want to burn all my saved mileage on the A/C. No power seat adjustments, having almost everything electric in the vehicle and then having to pull and adjust my seat like when I was a teenager in my 1993 Honda Civic was no fun. Not enough power, inconsistent acceleration. The Kia Soul sometimes felt a bit sluggish, especially when ... (more)

This car is visually stunning. I purchased it in black with black leather seats. The seats had white stitching, which added to the sporty feel. The car has different drive modes ranging from Eco to Sport Plus. The eco mode saves on gas and the car turns off when stopped. The different modes feel like you are driving a different vehicle. Sport Plus gives this car too much power and I fishtailed when taking a corner.
Story
This car is definitely a head turner, so be prepared to get some looks!
Pros
This car is the perfect mix of masculine and feminine. The sleek design gives it an aggressive sporty look, but the coupe makes it look more of a "girls car". The car has big sport tires and nice rims, which I powder coated black. The car is a great sports car and gets good gas mileage.
Cons
For such a large vehicle, the interior is very small. I am not very big (5'4 100 lbs) and I felt like I was sitting inside a compact car. There is no a lot of head room either and my husband felt as though his head was almost hitting the ceiling no matter how low the seats were positioned. I also felt the seats were very heavy which made putting items in the back seat nearly impossible for someone petite like me.
