2015 Kia Soul - Lots of Soul
The Kia Soul is a great car for a person who is trying to start a small family. It is spacious even for its small size and gets decent gas mileage. The car is good for taking road trips, especially due to the height in the trunk and the ability to push forward seats that are not in use in order to fit more into the vehicle. This, combined with the gas mileage, makes for a great experience when moving as well.
Story
After coming back from Lake Tahoe to Las Vegas my mother and my wife and I took a detour trying to get away from the highway construction. After 45 minutes of driving, we eventually ended up hitting a roadblock, and had to double back to where we started.
Pros
-The spacious hatchback trunk with retractable seats in order to make room for more.
-The gas mileage which is above average (highway 31 mpg).
-The option for "Eco-Friendly" mode, which makes it so that your pressing on the gas pedal does not accelerate as quickly, thereby reducing your fuel used.
Cons
-The engine is not extremely powerful. If you're looking for a sport car experience, this car is not for you.
-At times, the automatic gear shift seems to slip. This is rare and mostly occurs when I'm going up hills, but it does happen.
-The shape of the car makes it difficult for automatic carwashes to properly dry the back of the car, so you'll have to get out and dry it yourself.
2014 Kia Soul - I love it
We bought this car two yrs. ago, and while it already had 28,000 miles, it was still in virtually brand-new condition. The gas mileage is wonderful, it's comfortable to sit in, and it's shockingly roomy inside. It feels like I am driving an SUV, but the reality of it being more of a wagon is even better for insurance.
Story
My husband and I drove this to the Bay area the week we got it, and it made it all the way on one tank of gas...400 miles...I was ecstatic!
Pros
My favorites about this car are : it comes equipped with Sirius, Bluetooth, and a USB port. The mileage is amazing, the air conditioner gets ice cold right away, and I feel protected inside it.
Cons
On the negative side, the main thing I notice is we don't have the reminder bell when I forget to shut off my lights. Silly I know, but it happens, and I am afraid of draining the battery. Also, tires lose pressure fairly fast, and mostly, it doesn't seem to be a smooth ride. I feel every bump and crack in the road.
