2014 Kia Soul - Perfect commuter car
The 5 star safety rating and the price point were the primary motivation. The fact that the Sport edition had better fuel economy than the standard edition was a primary reason for going for the Sport over the basic model.
Story
5 friends heading to a festival signing along to music and having a good time.
Pros
Safe, responsive, dependable, and comfortable. It is also fun to drive, and has better performance than what you would expect.
Cons
Storage space - with it being such a compact design shopping trips are either a solo affair with a shopping list, or find someone to leave the kids with.
2012 Kia Soul - Best inexpensive family car to date!
We bought this car for our family after my previous car had died (it as 15 years old). We had dine some research prior and were looking for a tiny SUV type vehicle but also were really on a budget. This car fit the things we needed! It performs well, though a little slow to accelerate. We haven't had it too long so no issues to date which is awesome! I would highly recommend this car for anyone with kids and needing to transport sports stuff, groceries, luggage without going to a full size SUV.
Pros
- back seats fold down if you are transporting big items
-Bluetooth speakers for your phone throughout the car
-lots of room in the trunk/hatchback for luggage and groceries
-pockets on the back of the seats for kids items
-has iPod hookup which is nice
-has Sirius radio included
-roomy without being massive
-very inexpensive- only; 15k brand new
- gets very good gas mileage and tells you on the dash what you are averaging
Cons
-handles poorly in the ice
-a little slow around corners
- little slow to accelerate
