2013 Kia Sorento - Disappointed
The vehicle was an ideal size for my family. It had a third row seat that seemed superior to those in its class and price range. However the ride is very bumpy. The vehicle also had a runner board that looks nice and may be a good idea however it does it get in the way. The interior quality is fairly poor. As the Cig lighter / jack pulled out of its socket within a week of ownership (brand new to start). It was fixed and then the problem occurred again. The head rest on the driver side has come apart. The radio will now randomly turn off and on, on its own.
Story
The vehicle has been on many family road trips and has quite a few miles on it. The one thing that was the most memorable was getting brand new tires put on the thing and then heading out on family vacation. Got 40 miles into our drive and got a flat tire on the interstate. Completely ruined a brand new tire (with no road hazard) and had to buy another one. Not a fun experience but was memorable.
Pros
The vehicle does well on gas and has a larger trunk space with the third row seating down. It can accommodate up to 7 people.
Cons
Within a month or so of owning the brand new vehicle, the rear tail light bulb came out of its socket and was rolling around inside the bezel. The Cig lighter/ jack pulled out of the center console. I went through 3 sets of tires in the first 60000 miles due to issues with alignment. And after 100000 miles the radio will randomly turn on and shut off on its own. It is a very bumpy ride and idles rough.
2016 Kia Sorento - Attractive, reliable and safe.
My KIA Sorento is a very attractive, modern vehicle. The comfort of the seats is amazing. I take a lot of random road trips, and this has been, by far, the most comfortable vehicle for long drives. There are many different positions you can move your seat so you can find the perfect position for you. The controls for the vehicle are located in easy access areas. For example, the steering wheel has the voice control button, so you don't have to try to find it while driving. I use this feature constantly.
Story
I took a road trip to South Dakota right after I purchased my vehicle and drove through the Badlands. It was so much fun driving the car through all the windy roads and through the mountains. The car did an amazing job going up and down the mountains.
Pros
The vehicle is quiet and a really smooth ride. The look of the vehicle is very attractive. I love the ability to see the tire pressure for each tire. It also comes with roadside assistance for anything including gas.
Cons
If you open up any window too far, the wind flowing through the vehicle creates this pressure and ear deafening noise. I have also received many complaints about the quality of the Bluetooth. I've been told I sound really far away, and sometimes I even sound like a robot. Also, the feature doesn't always connect when it should, or it shows it's connected, but you can't hear anything.
