There were some things that I was uncomfortable with, at first, when we made our Kia purchase. I noticed right away that there were some plastic and vinyl components in the vehicle that did not quite match up colorwise. The head room, when getting in and out of the vehicle, was not there. There was also the door panel that kept popping out whenever I got in and out of the van. However, the van was mechanically okay for around two and a half years before the problems started to present themselves. The first major item was an advanced overheating of the radiator. I was able to get this repaired under the warranty, but the dealership did act as though they were doing me a favor for doing the repair. In the years immediately after this radiator repair the other mechanical issues popped up left and right.

I was terribly let down after about three years into owning my Kia mini-van, it began to show signs of trouble. I was especially let down due the fact that I had never had any outside maintenance done to the vehicle. Literally, everything I had done, was done at the Kia dealership. All of my oil changes, tire rotations, wheel alignment, and breaks. Then when trouble with my radiator began, I was especially let down when the dealership suggested that the problem was something that, in fact, I caused to my own vehicle. I still own my Kia now, but I wish I didn't have to, and that is only because my spouse and I had to do a lot of debating, pleading, and arguing with the various Kia dealerships to make the van drivable. They did not help us freely or easily. They acted as though they were doing us a tremendous favor by fixing my vehicle over the years, most of the work done under warranty, however a lot of it came at a great expense to our family. I also saw in the earlier part of our Kia ownership excessive rusting around the gas tank area, and rusting in the tracks of the sliding doors on each side of the van. I most likely will never own another Kia again in my life, even though I am told that Kia, as a brand, has gotten better over the years. The experience I had with my vehicle caused a lot of unnecessary stress and literal heart ache. A purchase that was supposed to enhance our lives, has turned out to be a lingering daily regret. I still, to this day, do not drive it more than thirty miles outside the radius of my home, out of fear that something might happen out on the road. I cannot afford to be stranded, nor left out in the elements, on the side of the road with my children.
