Kia Sedona Owner Ratings & Reviews

2006 Kia Sedona - A great van for a mom
We purchased this used van several years ago when we learned we were expecting our third child. We needed to trade in our SUV, and the van was a good comparable trade in for us.
This van has been very reliable for our family. We have experienced no major engine issues, and it still gets good gas mileage. The interior has held up to heavy traffic of three busy children and their friends. While the van doesn't feel extremely large when I am driving it, it has enough interior room so our family of five and two dogs are comfortable. On longer road trips, I especially appreciate the comfortable driver and front passenger seats. Unlike other vans I have driven, this seat doesn't hurt my back on long drives. It offers a smooth and quiet ride and conversation is easy, even with my oldest ch... (more)
Story
We were traveling with friends and their car ran out of gas. We loaded our family of five and their family of four in the van and finished out our drive. It was a little crowded, but we put on some fun music and everyone had a good time anyway.
Pros
The driver's seat is very comfortable. The storage space in the back is spacious. The back row of seats can be stowed, partially raised, or fully raised depending on your needs. It gets good gas mileage and is comfortable on long road trips.
Cons
The sliding van doors will become difficult to open in freezing temperatures. The exterior paint is flaking on the bumper.
2006 Kia Sedona - Family mule
We were one of those families that said we would never ever, under no circumstances whatsoever, own a minivan. However, after hoisting two sets of car seats in and out of the back of our SUV, we came to our senses and decided that there had to be a better way. That better way was a minivan. So, yes, we gave up on having a "stylish family" and moved on to something that was practical and more user-friendly. Then, when we found out we were having a third child, the benefits of our choice become obvious.
Story
I have changed a child's diaper in the back of this van while stuck in traffic on the interstate.
Pros
During the shopping process, we had three criteria only: fuel economy, reliability, and safety. The Kia Sedona fits that bill. The manufacturers' warranty doesn't transfer well beyond the first owner, but we've never had cause to use it. It gets us around from place to place without issue, and I don't have to take out a small loan to fill up the tank. The safety record of the vehicle is outstanding as well, and there are airbags all over the place.
Cons
It isn't pretty. I mean, it's not actively ugly, but the design statement is less "unique" and more "fruit juice and mac 'n' cheese." It also corners like a horse-drawn stagecoach, which makes it not a lot of fun to drive.

2014 Kia Sorento - Hart Motors Salem
This is our 2nd Kia Sorento. The first one we purchased in 2013 and decided to trade that one in because of the gas mileage issue that Kia had with those vehicles. At least that was one reason. The other reason for upgrading to the 2014 was the fact we needed a larger engine to handle the mountain roads. We severely underestimated our first choice. The Kia dealership worked with us and applied the gas rebate as well as offering us a decent deal to stay with Kia Motors so we did. The Salem dealership is no stress and very easy to deal with. For that reason alone, I will go back to them.
