The first time I saw the redesigned Kia Optima, I fell in love. I always associated Kia with being fun because of their Kia Soul commercials, but I was skeptical about reliability of the cars. After doing some research and learned that they were under the same manufacturer as Hyundai, I started to consider Kia. I wanted to replace my gas guzzler of an SUV, so I looked around for the best cars. The Kia Optima was by far the most attractive on the outside, but I had to make sure that it was safe and would accommodate a family of 5. I learned that the 2012 Kia Optima is one of the safest cars around so that definitely increased its appeal. I purchased a spicy red LX model used with about 15,000 miles on it over a year ago. I was pleased to learn that the warranty still transferred over to... (more)
Story
I remember being thankful that we traded in our SUV for a car with a separate trunk because my daughter threw up on one of our road trips. We were able to put her messy clothes in the trunk instead of letting the smell permeate throughout the entire car if we had the SUV.
Pros
The biggest appeal about this car is its look. I found out that Audi's designer went over to Hyundai/Kia and has been designing for them, which is why the newer models look so great. The Optima is sporty, classy, and fun to drive. I still consider myself to be a young mom, so I didn't want a "mom car" like a big SUV or a minivan. This car works great for my kids. They can get in and out easily and driving them around town is not a big deal because of the fuel efficiency. I always get compliments on how beautiful my car is even though its the base model. I've read many complain about the pa... (more)
Cons
I didn't get leather, so it is hard to keep clean with messy kids in the back seat. My kids are all under 8 so it is a struggle to fit car seats in. That is something families would definitely need to consider when purchasing a car. I almost wish I would have spent a little more money to buy the SX model because I think it looks so much nicer and has the panoramic sunroof, which I am dying to get.

2002 Kia Optima - The Kia Optima is a safe vehicle. With its 4 Cylinder it is a real gas saver.

The Kia Optima is a car with enough space for a family. It fits a car chair, a couple of baggages and of course the driver and its wife. It looks like more of a Limousine and this makes it very loved. It has a nice radio with a CD player and a radio. The dash board is simple with a speedometer. The seats are very comfortable and so is driving long distances a real fun. Ours is a silver model and when ever the colors at the outside are changing the whole car appearance is changing too. You may compare it to an Chameleon. The trunk is big enough to fit two medium size baggages or one big size bag. There is a hole to put a spare wheel which makes sense in case the is a flat tire on the road. On the back seat there is even enough space and in the middle you can flap a very comfortable cup ...
