2004 Kia Optima - Good Car Overall
I brought this car a couple of years ago used from someone who had but a lot of miles on the car. While the car did need some work done to it, once the work was done, the car ran great! I like that the car has a sun roof, a CD player, radio, air conditioning and heat. I also liked that the seats were motorized. I didn't like that I could only get heat and ac if it was turned on full blast. But that was a pretty minor dislike for me. Also the car has leather seats. Which is nice ideally but I feel like they are easier to ruin, harder to repair and hold in heat during the summer. I also liked that the car had power windows and access to the trunk from the inside. I would definitely get this car again just this years model.
Story
I have driven to NC and back to NJ in under 48 hours in this car.
Pros
The pros was that the vehicle seemed to run pretty well. I haven't had trouble with it in years. Although recently I did have to spend some money on muffler, brake and alternator repairs. I love the sunroof. The car gets great gas mileage and does pretty well in bad weather conditions.
Cons
I wish this car had a navigation system. I think that would save me a lot of time because I wouldn't have to worry about wasting time waiting for my phone to load directions. I also wish all of the settings on the AC and heat worked.
2004 Kia Optima - Great car.
My 04 Kia Optima has really been a reliable car for me. I have kept up with the regular maintenance on it and I think that's really key for all cars. That said, there's been no breakdowns or problems other than an electrical component went out on the AC a year ago and I had to have it fixed. It didn't cost too much, but going a couple days in the middle of the summer with leather seats and no A/C was a nightmare!
Story
My daughter really liked the sunroof in the car as it allowed us to use my car during a parade a couple of years back. She was able to sit on the roof with her legs inside the car while my husband drove in the procession. The sunroof has been very versatile for us, for sure.
Pros
My favorite feature of the car was the leather seats because they were so easy to clean! It has a great sunroof and window guards that I really like as well. Mostly, it is the cold AC and electric windows and seats that I appreciated most often!
Cons
The one thing about this car that I don't really like is that the gas mileage isn't as good as I want it to be. For a sedan, it's not great. I'm getting just over 20 mpg most of the time. The car isn't a large car and it's only a 4 cylinder so I feel like should be getting at least another 10 mpg. Hopefully, Kia has since figured out a way to get more mileage per gallon out of their cars.
