2007 Jeep Wrangler Owner Ratings & Reviews

2007 Jeep Wrangler - Cool, but not practical.
First of all, let me express that I am a massive fan of the Jeep Wrangler. I came home from the hospital after being born in a slick 1994 YJ and it's been a family tradition ever since. I previously had a 2001 TJ Wrangler which I loved but unfortunately lost it due to two separate accidents. However, I currently have a 2007 Jeep Wrangler X. (The first year of the JK!) Too be honest, I can't say that I'm a fan. I love the fact that it's a Wrangler for obvious reasons so I suppose I'm a little biased. It's unfortunate that my list of complaints are considerably longer than my compliments. They revamped the interior of the JK but it's no better than the older models and I actually argue that it's worse. My model is the original, two door version (which gets bonus points for keeping it's o... (more)
Story
I haven't had my Jeep for very long but I often take it up onto the Blueridge Parkway in NC and ride up and down the parkway. It's very fun and relaxing.
Pros
The biggest pro about having my 2007 Jeep Wrangler is definitely the fact that you become part of a community. There is numerous groups and clubs that are available nation wide that you can join. It is essentially as if you are joining a family. A very large family. If I am ever having mechanical issues with my Jeep or need someone to bail me out if I'm broke down, I always have my Jeep community to help. It is also a great conversation starter. I cannot tell you how many conversation I engage in on a daily basis merely for driving a Wrangler. It's quite remarkable. Another obvious pro is ... (more)
Cons
Unfortunately, I do have many complaints about this particular year of the Jeep. When Chrysler first produced the JK models of the Wranglers, they began to make them with a very cheap metal. It is very flimsy and extremely easy to dent, scratch and mess up in general. While driving interstate speeds, I can visibly see my hood, which is always latched on properly, flap slightly. This worries me a great deal. I have a soft top on my Jeep which is notoriously loud. It also leaks heavily whenever it rains. It is nearly unbearable when driving at higher speeds. While the JK received many decent... (more)
2007 Jeep Wrangler - I love this vehicle because it is fun to drive.
I have a Jeep Wrangler Sport four door with a soft top. I absolutely love the way this SUV drives and is so responsive. It is fun to ride in for our entire family. It has so many ways that it can be customized that it makes it fun to own. You can change the type of top you have, tires, lifts, interior, etc.
Story
We had an awesome time this past summer taking the Jeep camping. We took all the doors off and took the top down. We were hauling all our camping equipment along with all our camping gear. It was a fun, family time full of good memories. Our kids felt "cool" riding around with no doors and the top down.
Pros
Some of the pros that I see with Jeep Wrangler are how easy and responsive it is to drive. It turns very well and is super responsive in regards to acceleration and deceleration. We love the flexibility of being able to take the top off and to remove the doors to the vehicle. We love the size of the four door as it holds our entire family with plenty of storage room in the back. It also easily tows our small 4x8 trailer that we use to haul kayaks to the river.
Cons
The major con for this vehicle is definitely the gas mileage. It is not good at all. It also goes through motor oil twice as quickly as other vehicles. Another con is that we have had several issues with faulty fuses causing many of the different instruments on the Jeep to not work. Also, since owning this car, we have received several notices from the manufacture regarding recalls.
