Low maintenance and dependable. I never worried about taking this Jeep off-road or on anywhere in the country. It is built well and even take hits like a champ. I was rear-ended once, and only the trailer hitch and bumper showed any damage. It looks sharp, and holds its value very well in the long run.
Story
Off-road, it can go almost anywhere and fits in places other Sport Utilities will not.
Pros
Low maintenance and dependable. I love how easy it is to customize. Most upgrades only require basic tools and parts are readily available online. Stock, the fuel MPG is comparable to similar SUVs.
Cons
It is easy to get carried away with upgrades and this vehicle can be come an expensive hobby. Hard to find parts in a junk yard.

The base jeep wrangler is a great vehicle for those who enjoy the outdoors and are looking for an affordable four wheel drive vehicle. It isn't ideal for small children or large families, but it does what is advertised. It is very durable with high ground clearance and comes with loads of after market options for upgrades. The base model is a little under powered with a 4 cylinder engine, but it gets better gas mileage than most trucks with around 20-21 mpg combined. Today's vehicles often have AWD and only get slightly better fuel efficiency and most 4WD vehicles get much worse, so it is a nice balance between capability and fuel economy. Style wise the jeeps are iconic and there are only slight changes between the wranglers throughout the years. The ride is a little stiff due to the ... (more)
Story
There are countless stories of camping around Tennessee using the jeep to gain access to hidden gem camping spots. It has a narrow wheel base and plenty of capability to climb rutted out trails and forge through creeks.
Pros
The base model jeep wrangler is affordable, reliable, and great for off-roading. It is a vehicle that comes with four wheel drive, which is useful in the winter and for when you want to go camping off the beaten path. There is plenty of space for three people and their belongings and ample leg room. I have owned the car for over 7 years and there have been no real issues with the functionality of the car. It looks good and is easy to work on, which is a big deal with more and more cars needing a computer to run all the diagnostics. Parts are cheap and plentiful, with loads of aftermarket o... (more)
Cons
The only main negative to owning a base jeep wrangler is that they don't come stock with an air conditioner. It isn't really an issue for most people, but living in the south it is almost a necessity for a few months out of the year. The top is removable and is fine while moving, but if you have to drive on the interstate the noise and traffic can get you. The sound system is a little less desirable, but a lot of that is due to the noise of driving with the top down.
