I have a 2002 Jeep Wrangler Sport that I purchased used with 124k miles. I have had it now for a year an a half. The quality and dependability is outstanding. The 4.0L is a still a strong motor, even with the high mileage... nothing like that in-line 6. My previous Jeep (it was a Cherokee) had the same motor and I drove it for eight years before I traded it. My model is a 5 speed, which I love. I love the versatility of the Jeep. I have a hard top for winter and a soft top for summer. Cruising in the summertime with the top and doors off feels like complete freedom. On or off road and in any weather, it handles like a champ. The downsides are that is compact, so the 4 people that can fit are not very comfortable (next Jeep will probably be a 4 door Rubicon). Not real fuel ef... (more)
Story
Wheeling at Uwharrie (where it's "jeep" country) and most everybody is more than willing to help out a fellow jeep er if needed. Friendliest people on the planet own Jeeps.
Pros
I like being able to go anywhere and not worrying about getting stuck. Love that I can take off the doors and the top to let the wind blow through my hair.
Cons
It's not fuel efficient and it's not a very comfortable ride (for the passengers) on long trips.

The Jeep is just so versatile and fun. I wouldn't buy a Lambo if it was the last car on earth. The quality depends on what you do with it. When I was still in high school, I never took it off road and was impressed with the quality. After high school when I started trail riding, I started breaking things, which is expected. The stock speakers are still going strong for 15 years old. Much of the under body has been replaced.
Story
One of my favorite memories is with all my friends in 2006 piled in the Jeep, two more people than there should have been. We were getting ready to graduate high school, top was down, doors off, it was raining and we were singing 90s dance music.
Pros
You can add so many modifications. It can look completely different from any Jeep you see on the road. From tires, to lights, bumpers, mirrors. The best part is taking the top and doors off and going in the woods. The lift kit is my favorite part.
Cons
Like I said before, things break. The newer the Jeep, the more expensive things will get. The modifications are pricey as well. It also doesn't get the best gas mileage. To me it's worth it with the fun I have.
