2014 Jeep Patriot - Not what I expected.
When we first purchased the Jeep, it was based on the reputation of the company and the available four-wheel drive capabilities. Living in Wisconsin through the winter months made 4WD a must. Test driving the vehicle at the dealership proved to be just like any car. Comfortable fit, big enough for two car seats, and a trunk for the dog. Since I was looking to be cost effective, we went for more of a base model as to save money by avoiding additional bells and whistles that came with newer vehicles (navigation screen, etc.). Unfortunately, it seems as though the good times stop there.
Story
4WD got me out of a blizzard in northern Wisconsin. One and a half feet of snow had fallen, and I was able to get home no problem.
Pros
Ability to maneuver in a more rugged terrain. The capabilities of laying the back seats flat just in case I need to take the dog somewhere. Four-wheel drive.
Cons
The cruise control button does not always work. Sometimes I find myself needing to try and set the cruise control upwards a couple dozen times before it actually locks in place. Even then, it has a tendency to shut the cruise control off on a wild hair and without notice. The tire sensor in one of the four tires is faulty so even with all four tires filled according to the PSI listed on the sticker inside the door, the dashboard light still indicates low tire pressure.
