I think this vehicle was dependable, sturdy, and always handled well. I have also owned several Grand Cherokees which tended to have poor alignment that needed frequent correction. However, this vehicle has been nothing but great. It has been great on gas mileage and I am disappointed that the model has been discontinued.
Story
We brought our first child home from the hospital in this vehicle, so it will always have a positive reference for us.
Pros
This is a good vehicle for trips and for commuting. Though it was small inside, I found there to be enough room, especially with a couple of small children in the backset. It is also safe and handles well on the open road. I have also hauled a lot of boxes and storage items in it and found I could pack as much in it as the bed of truck in some cases.
Cons
The Jeep Liberty does give me pause on cloverleaf interchanges. I'm always concerned that it could easily flip due to its shape and poor distribution of weight. I feel like it is top-heavy in that sense. I tend to drive extremely slow on those tight curves in order to avoid this. The Liberty also has developed a stickiness in the plastic cover of the passenger side air bag. I am told this is a common occurrence as it melts for some reason.

I own a 2002 Jeep Liberty Sport. I bought this vehicle from a used car lot this past year, and I have been relatively pleased with it. If It had maintenance done routinely, I think the vehicle would perform better. In the past year, I have had to put in about $1,500 in repairs because of the lack of care the previous owner had. The vehicle lacks a lot of tech comforts, and the tech it does have usually malfunctions. However, I don't need much to be happy, and it's reliable, so I'm pleased with what it has to offer.
Story
The ability of having four-wheel drive lets me take the Jeep on local beaches that end up being more private than the tourist-friendly beaches.
Pros
It's roomy and comfortable. I have a dog that likes to wander about the car, and it's spacious enough that she doesn't bother me much. The length of the SUV has been good for big cities with a lot of parallel parking. It maneuvers well, and I feel pretty safe with the tropical storms Florida gets during the summer months.
Cons
The electrical has a tendency to malfunction often. One side of the car speakers doesn't work. The passenger power window recently quit working, and two of my locks have issues from time to time. The gas costs are rough, especially when you use the A/C. These vehicles don't have the best longevity, as they start to deteriorate early.
