Jeep Liberty Owner Ratings & Reviews

2008 Jeep Liberty - So much nicer than the "mom van" I had before this.
I test drove this car, and the Lexus 250IS before deciding to buy the BMW. The Lexus was "nice" but nothing special, and both cars were well-made and reliable, both with good estimated resale values.
After driving the Lexus, my husband and I went to the BMW dealer to drive this car. The styling, the sound, the similar price, the 4 maintenance plan offered, and ESPECIALLY the driving experience made the BMW the obvious choice. In my price range, it really is the Ultimate Driving Machine.
Story
I always felt invisible in my van, and now, driving the BMW, it's interesting that people comment on what a nice-looking car it is. Also, at 4 way stop signs, I am given the right of way much more than half of the time when another driver and I reach the intersection at the same time, travelling on perpendicular streets. When I drove the van, other drivers would often ignore my vehicle and jus... (more)
Pros
PROS:
I even though this car is now 6 years old, the styling is still very modern, and the newer models of this car still look very similar. I prefer the styling of my car though, because the newer models look a bit more conservative.
Especially after driving a Toyota van for 9 years, I find this to be a really fun car to drive. I have the 328i, not the 335i, which is good because I think the extra power would probably get me in trouble (speeding tickets).
As it is, the car has plenty of power to quickly accelerate getting onto the freeway, has nimble handling, and even with 4 passenger... (more)
Cons
CONS:
The gas mileage could be better. I average 18-20mpg, while this model vehicle years 2012 and later average about 24mpg for the same type of driving.
The car is a bit noisy inside - but it is a sport model vehicle, not a luxury vehicle. The car has run-flat tires, which are noisier than standard tires. (They are also more expensive to replace, and I have had to replace them after about 20,000 miles of driving.
Side and rear visibility is much better than the other car I considered purchasing (a Lexus 250IS - horrible visibility out the side and back, even with a camera/navigatio... (more)
2004 Jeep Liberty - Love the car, but a gas guzzler.
The car has been good to me overall. It is very reliable and have only had to do a couple cheap fixes on it - nothing too costly. I bought it used and have had a good experience with that. However, it is best if you have someone that is handy with cars living in the house to do these cheap repairs because I could imagine it getting expensive if taking it to a mechanic several times.
Story
Made a high speed turn while running a yellow light that was about to turn red at about 40 miles per hour. This car has an excellent turn radius and is a lot of fun to drive.
Pros
It has many of the "bonus" features that have become extra perks - such as song title on radio stations and volume control on steering wheel. Also runs very well and has a nice exterior look to it. Seating inside is very comfortable and withstands wear for the most part.
Cons
Only a couple of real cons to this car. First is that it is a total gas guzzler and gets probably only around 15 miles per gallon or less which is unfortunate because I have to gas up more often. Second, it has an antenna which can be a bit of a pain at the car wash and such. Other than that - solid car.
