The 2009 Jeep Liberty is probably my favorite car I've ever owned. Lots of cargo space, many storage compartments, and roomy interior create a relaxed driving experience conducive to traveling with a family. One major plus for me is that this SUV has an anti-lock brake system and anti-skid technology, which are so important in the slick Indiana winters. I feel that my vehicle has a way of protecting me and my kids even when I have no control over the weather. The interior is easily cleanable and is a color that hides a multitude of messes. The larger build is great for safety, while the sleek body style is attractive yet practical. The backseat cup holders are very handy and are a needed change from the previous years' models, which had cup holders in the doors, creating messes every t... (more)
Story
I have been able to drive this Jeep to the local beach and not worry about the sand in the cargo area, as it is super easy to clean. My kids generally bring shells and things home from the beach.
Pros
interior is easy to clean, exterior is sleek and durable, 4WD is a necessity, quality parts.
Cons
The left turn signal has a tendency to not work when it's raining. The Sirius radio goes in and out of reception.

2005 Jeep Liberty - It was worth the cost.

I have had the same vehicle for 5 years driving over 30 miles a day. In that time I have only had the heater core go out in the past month. For a vehicle that is over 10 years old to me still worth the cost. I have taken it on many vacation trips with no mechanical issues. The 4 wheel drive help when there is snow on the road and need extra control while driving. My 8 year old want to drive this when she has a license and would feel she would be safe driving the same type as we have now.
Story
We go to the drive in theatre and lay down the back seats in the summer. My kid can fall asleep or stay up and watch
Pros
I love being able to fold down the rear seats as needed. I can haul material for home improvements, groceries, and take it on vacation with plenty of room for everyone. It's comfortable to drive and not so large that parking is a problem. I have been in snow and mud without having issues, and feel safe driving.
Cons
I had to remove the rear head rests to be able to see out the back window. If I wasn't 5'2" this may not be a problem. Booster seats are hard to properly install in the safest position : middle position on the back seat due to the narrow seat width. The back is hard to clean with a vacuum because of narrow gaps. The gas mileage has gone down almost half of the manufacturer estimate even with all recommended maintenance being done.
