The 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee was great when it was purchased new. It was not long until we had began having issues with it. Every year, it had a new issue that would need to be fixed. That being said, it now has 220k miles on it, and it has been a very useful utility vehicle. It had to be taken in yesterday to fix a stuck brake caliper, which destroyed the rotor. After this many years, it definitely has shown its age and has lost quite a bit of power. The loss of power is very apparent when pulling a trailer. Overall, it has been a useful, but it has had countless repairs.
Story
We have taken many trips from Connecticut to Virginia to visit family. The car has always been reliable in long-distance trips. I always remember having the back seat to myself and being able to lay down in the back seat when I was young, but the seat belt buckle would always hurt my side.
Pros
The utility of the vehicle was perfect. We never ran out of space inside of the vehicle. Especially when we moved, we were able to fit a large amount of stuff in the back. Pulling a trailer with the Jeep has always been a great tool, and it allowed up to bring our ATV along with us. Also, with the racks on the top of the Jeep, we could put our kayaks on the top.
Cons
The countless repairs. Over the years, we have had to constantly repair it. It has overheated in the past, and just recently, the brake caliper was stuck shut and destroyed the rotor. We have put about $10,000 in repairs in the vehicle.

The style of the vehicle has come a long way, but the style has remained generally the same for the past 10 years. The uniqueness that people look for can be lost easily by getting this vehicle. Everywhere you turn you will see the same car. It's great for when you need to tow something around or throw something onto the roof. It has the capacity to really get anything you need to its final destination. The engine has the power. The transmission is nothing special. There are many reports that there are issues of failure. The task to remove the transmission is in depth and expensive if not covered in warrantee. It's inevitable. The interior is crisp depending on which package you get. The higher you go the better the options. A failure on the mfg side is the lack of interesting colors. ... (more)
Story
I entered the wrong car because it loos like so many others. Leaving the store I ended up getting into and trying to start someone else's car.
Pros
The overall style and options that came equipped. Towing capacity.
Cons
The lack of unique colors for such a popular car.

It was the closest option with the type of vehicles I was looking for. The great part was the overall variety of makes and models to choose from.
