The vehicle is of very good build quality. Since purchasing it, I have driven approximately 95,000 miles and it still drives like a much younger vehicle. The interior set up is the typical Chrysler family set up, with knobs for climate control and push button radio and clock controls. It includes a U-Connect system that allows you to use your cellphone via Bluetooth, but this is only included on certain models, so it is not a true "hands free" cellular usage environment. U-connect is not a pay service like satellite radio, so if your vehicle is not equipped with it, you cannot pay and have it turned on, you'd have to go to a dealer to potentially have it installed. The vehicle is a 4x4 with automatic shifting -- you don't have to choose if you want to be in Hi or Lo, which allows you t... (more)
Story
In my area there are a lot of deer. One night coming around a curve on a mountain pass, I hit one. I was afraid that I'd done serious damage to both the deer and myself. Luckily none of us were hurt. What could have been a very scary situation turned into something great. Without my realizing it, the Jeep had gone into 4x4 and was able to grip the road better so I didn't go skidding into the d... Pros
I love the automatic 4 wheel drive in this vehicle. I also love that within the instrument panel, there is an information system that gives you data on what's going on with the vehicle. You can see how long the battery has been in that vehicle, if the TPMS is reporting low tire pressure, etc. The default is to show the compass and outside temperature. Another helpful feature is the automatic seat adjustment on the driver's seat; helpful if multiple people drive the vehicle.
Cons
The only real negatives are the tires. The Grand Cherokee Laredo comes with metal valve stems that communicate with the TPMS. Over time, those do crack as they are not flexible. When they begin to crack/corrode, you will see a warning that tire pressure is low when it might not actually be the case. You also run the risk of having the valve stem fall into the tire, which happened to me at highway speeds. Luckily no one was hurt and the highway was empty at the time. I had the metal valve stems replaced with rubber, and it's been smooth sailing since then.

Overall, I am very pleased with my vehicle; it saves me money on gas compared to other SUVs and still allows me to be able to do the things most need a truck to do. Living in a winter climate, this vehicle makes it easy to get places even in a snowstorm. The car has a very nice interior and exterior design. However, I have had some issues with maintenance on the vehicle recently.
Story
The vehicle is great in the snow. It is always fun sliding around in the snow (while under control).
Pros
For an SUV, this vehicle has great gas mileage; I have been able to consistently get 17 miles per gallon in the suburbs and close to 20 on the highway. The seats in the vehicle are very comfortable. Being a Jeep, I never have to worry about weather conditions because it can handle anything. With the durability of the car, I can also use it to tow small trailers and boats, which eliminates my need for a truck.
Cons
I have had trouble with maintenance. The vehicle has had unusual amount of problems with breakdowns. Tire pressure sensors malfunctioning, oil pan rusting, and ignition coil breaking. The car also does not have the most power; on the highway I do struggle sometimes accelerating quickly. The automatic car starter that came with the vehicle also has issues sometimes. The starter will sound terrible and make a noise that does not sound good for the engine. I have had issues with the sound system in the vehicle. The speakers are not the best quality, and the outlets on the console to plug in t... (more)
