2007 Jeep Compass - Great little multi-purpose vehicle
I purchased my used 2007 Jeep Compass in 2013, so it was a few years old. I have had it for three years now, and have been pleased with its performance. It gets great gas mileage and I haven't had to spend much on repairs for a vehicle that is now 10 years old with 126k miles. I really like the fold down speaker on the tailgate for when we are at the beach and the leather interior is nice to have. The AWL is nice to have in the snow.
Story
We took our vintage trailer with the Jeep to Mossyrock Dam here in Washington State. It towed the 1000 lb trailer with ease.
Pros
I really like that you can convert the car from an automatic to a stick shift just by moving the gear shift to the right. The AWD works well for me as we never know if it's going to snow in the pacific NW. The speaker system is nice and I like that it has a CD player. I am happy that there is an electrical outlet so my son can plug in his phone. I am pleased that there is a sensor to let me know if the air pressure in a tire is low.
Cons
It seems that the only repairs I have had to make are for oil leaks. The engine kind of "revs" when going uphill. The leather interior is starting to wear on the driver's seat. I wish there was an electrical outlet in the back of my vehicle for tailgating. It is hard to open the hood, even the oil change guys have a hard time figuring it out.
