2016 Jeep Compass - Comfortable car, no big issues
My 2016 Jeep Compass has been a great match for me. It is quite small for an SUV, but a decent amount more trunk space than my previous sedan had. The interior is very comfortable; however, it seems to be a little cheap. The leather on the steering wheel had blemishes early into owning the car, but it is barely noticeable. I enjoy the built-in Sirius radio, with a year free trial; however, the Bluetooth feature has proven to be unreliable. It began to only successfully connect about half the time and soon would not connect at all. The ride of the car is nice, and it has been good to me while driving off road. This car was not my first choice, but because of financial issues, it was the most affordable for my family. I have two children who ride in the back, and the install for car seat... (more)

This car was not my first choice, but because of financial issues, it was the most affordable for my family. I have two children who ride in the back, and the install for car seats was relatively easy, although I did have to do a belt install as I could not get a tight enough fit with the car's latch system. Overall, it's a nice SUV for a small family but as I said before, small. Mine does not include many extra features but the good gas mileage and comfort has been worth it for me.
One time, I was driving to work, going on the back roads I normally take there. My daughter who is four years old asked me to play a song for her. I put it on using the auxiliary cord hooked up to my phone. The speaker sound is great, and I appreciate the level of bass it can reach so I put it on loud. Then, I opened up my children's windows, and we all began to dance along to the song togethe... (more)

Then, I opened up my children's windows, and we all began to dance along to the song together while the wind was blowing our hair around through the window. It was so much fun, and it was such a smooth ride, so it was enjoyable for my children too. My daughter expressed to me how much she enjoyed it, so we do the same thing fairly often now. The only thing that would have improved the experience would be if I had purchased this vehicle with the sunroof so I would have been able to open that as well. I know my children would get a kick out of viewing the sky through it and feeling the breeze as well.

2016 Jeep Compass - Great SUV
I have not had the Compass very long, so I honestly cannot speak to its reliability. In all other areas, it hits the mark. The interior is comfortable, and the Latitude trim, with popular and cold weather groups, is well appointed with creature comforts. I have never owned a vehicle with a heated steering wheel, but I will from now on. I am a former Jeep Wrangler owner; the Compass is not in any way, the off-road beast the Wrangler was. So, if your goal is the same off-road-ability with an upgrade in comfort, don't buy the Compass. If you are looking for pointed style, comfort and technology while being able to get to work in the middle of a Nor'easter, the Compass should be on your test drive list. About the issue of power...no, the Compass will not win many points, but we also own a '17 Equinox 4cyl. and the Compass is superior. It handles like a tight and smooth European sedan that allows the driver to feel confident under harsh conditions. I have owned several Honda Pilots and VW sedans...the Compass competes well with the Pilot (SUV giant) and VW (autobahn cruiser). It has very good marks for being safe...and, it's fun to drive and keeps my hands warm! Well done.
Going to drive-ins with family, just pop out the hatch and it's ready to go. We had a great time, and it was all because of the Jeep. My son spilled something, and it was very easy to clean up. We also took it on a trip to Ocean City; it was a great ride. It was comfortable and gas wasn't that bad.

Cabin is modern and more upscale. Cargo space with the rear seat up and down. Off-road package available. 35.6 turning circle makes it easy to maneuver and park in tight spaces. Two fuel-efficient engines. Large 2.4-liter four-cylinder offers responsive towing abilities.

Slow acceleration from both four-cylinder engines. Side-impact airbags are optional so it should score poorly again in side-impact crash tests. Legroom is limited in the rear seat and not practical for taller passengers. Minimal off-road capabilities are provided, unless you actually equip it with an off-road package. Optional four-wheel drive systems are confusing.
