2010 Jeep Commander Owner Ratings & Reviews
Write a Review
2010 Jeep Commander - Good family vehicle
It is a great small family SUV. I have never had any mechanical problems with mine. The Commander is a very comfortable vehicle. We have taken several vacations with our young children and always have enough room to take everything that we need. It's also a great around town/grocery shopping vehicle.
Story
Our most fun (and cramped) story would be our trip with four adults and one toddler from Nevada to Montana. Bot in the winter and in the snow and with a trunk overflowing with luggage. We made it without any problems, but it was a bit of a tight ride.
Pros
It has a very comfortable ride quality. I really enjoy the folding seats. I can easily go from hauling seven people to hauling a six-foot-tall dresser. I enjoy the remote keys and the fact that I can open windows with the door remote, both the back hatch window via the specific button and the front windows by holding the unlock button. I love that in seven years of near daily driving, there have been no mechanical issues at all.
Cons
I do not like that, while the steering wheel looks like it would tilt up more, it does not. I feel that my spouse and I would both be happier if it tilted up just a bit more. I do not like that the all wheel drive is "smart" and controls itself. It frequently turns itself on in the summer when it is not needed, and I have never been able to get the traction control to turn on in the winter, regardless of the snow level or how slippery the roads are. I have had the traction control checked and was told it was is normal working order. I do not like that, while it came with the hardware (butt... (more)
2010 Jeep Commander - Extremely Pleased
I am a very proud owner of a Jeep Commander. I am the second owner, but one would hardly notice. This vehicle is extremely well built and literally commands the road. I am so thankful we purchased this vehicle. It serves all our family's needs with excellence. My husband loves to hunt and needs a sturdy car to drive through the fields. Our Jeep rarely ever gets stuck. We have family across the country and this vehicle has safely driven us many, many miles.
Story
One specific memory that comes right to mind occurred Winter 2015. We live about 30 minutes from my parents and there was a huge Pennsylvania snow storm. But we were determined to spend our snowed in experience with my parents. So my husband drove us through wind blown Bucks County Roads that hadn't even been touched by a tow truck. The Jeep preformed amazingly and we arrived safe and warm. It... (more)
Pros
One of the biggest Pros for me is our car's safety rating. That is one of the main reasons my family decided to make this purchase. When I drive our Jeep I feel safe and willing to drive my children and their friends from location to location. A second and important Pro for our family is our car's towing capacity. We have a small boat and also love to travel. Our Jeep has safely driven our family across the country.
Cons
This vehicle has very few cons. However, the biggest one for me was the initial price. Essentially this car was way over our price range and has made many months hard on our finances. However, I have full confidence that this car will remain with us until it is completely paid off.
