1994 Jeep Cherokee - Perfect Alaskan vehicle
I purchased my Cherokee Sport a year ago for $1,200. It has the inline six-cylinder engine, and as most will say, this engine is a trooper. It has over 200,000 miles, but I can tell many more are left in it. I have had to do some basic maintenance and replaced a few parts, but I still feel this Jeep will last for years, as long as I keep up on the basics. It gets me all over the different terrain in Alaska and handles the snow beautifully.
Story
I was living in a very remote location for the winter. The road was constantly changing to different conditions Ñ none of which were good. When I first realized how well and easily the Jeep would be able to handle almost all conditions and with a bit of winter driving know-how, it was a very exciting moment.
Pros
Great for snow/sand. 4WD. Durable. Fun to drive. Reliable. Inexpensive parts.
Cons
Small cargo space.
