2011 Jaguar XF - Beautiful, fun to drive, but not for every day use!

My car is absolutely beautiful, inside as well as out. People comment on it all the time. It's fun to drive, has a smooth ride, but is a luxury vehicle & is not meant for daily use in my opinion.
Story
I once saw a car exactly like mine, same color & everything, & we got side by side on the road & smiled & waved like long lost friends.
Pros
I love the paint job, the leather interior with wood trim, the purr of the engine, the way it handles, the sound quality of the stereo system, the built in Bluetooth connection, & the way the seats warm & cool. However, my absolute favorite feature of this car is the navigation system & built in cameras! I love, love, love that it beeps to warn me when I am too close to something & the color coded warning lights show on the display as well as the side view mirrors! I have also enjoyed the 5 year bumper to bumper warranty, which includes a rental car free of charge!
Cons
The biggest con for me is the gas mileage is extremely poor. However, I have to say that it does pretty well on the interstate with cruise control! I also dislike the fact that not all states are programmed into the navigation system. The two states that I visit the most frequently are missing - FL & GA. I can't believe that they were not included - especially FL! This car has an excellent warranty, but it NEEDS it!!! It has spent more time in the shop than it has in my driveway. Ok that's a bit of an exaggeration, but there are frequent electrical problems, updates needed to the system, t... (more)

2011 Jaguar XF - Great car when it's running, but expensive upkeep

My car is beautiful, comfortable, has all of the bells and whistles, but maintenance is crazy expensive! When it's running, it's great. However, Jaguar wants you to bring it to the dealership for everything. Most mechanics aren't familiar with it and don't feel comfortable working on it. However, if you can find a European mechanic, it will be much cheaper than bringing it to the dealership!
Story
Whoever had the car prior to me must have raced it. I'm a Mom, and I can't tell you how often I get people wanting to race with me. They also see the car and act excited, like they think they know me, and then then see me in the driver seat and look confused. It always makes me laugh.
Pros
I love the heated/cooled seats, the adjustability of the seats, the rear cameras, the A/C and heat, the leather interior, the look of the car, the way it handles, and built-in navigation system. The warranty was wonderful until it expired.
Cons
It seems that something is frequently breaking on it, or has a recall, and Jaguar wants you to bring it into the shop or else it voids the warranty. They even want you to bring it in for oil changes and battery changes. They claim that if you change the battery yourself, you will still need to bring in for some sort of reset. I've found this to be untrue. You simply have to drive the car a bit after changing the battery and it resets itself. Maintenance on this thing is expensive through the dealership!

I like my car. The car is nice and rides smooth although at times the acceleration is not that great. I dislike the handling. It doesn't handle as I would like. It's adequate. For the price and miles I got for the car, it was a good deal. The quality of the car is exceptional. It really is a well built car, but I was expecting a better handling experience.
Story
The most fun time is when I first got the car. I was super excited. I drove it around with the sunroof open and the windows down speeding down the highway.
Pros
The top positive things of this car is that the cabin inside is really nice. I enjoy driving it. The wood grain and the LCD monitor tracking all of the cars performances is without a doubt excellent. The sound system is superb. The seats are comfortable and I like that I can adjust my driving seat.
Cons
The top negative is the handling of the car. I would prefer better handling when I turn curves. The miles to the gallon is also a con. It needs better gas mileage. Also, sometimes there are electrical glitches with the headlights that are a nuisance.
