Jaguar S-Type Owner Ratings & Reviews

2005 Jaguar S-Type - Jaguars a lot of work
I bought a 2005 Jaguar and its finally gotten to the point where its not even worth fixing. The fuel pump has died like 4 times and there always seems to be an issue. I love the car, but its always broken.
Story
The day I took it off the lot was the best day ever. It just felt so good driving it around. It was a great car.
Pros
Its a jaguar you feel like a champ driving it. When I it new, I felt like a monster driving it around.
Cons
It breaks a lot and the 2005 model even brand new lost its luster as the older models are much better looking.
2008 Jaguar S-Type - Horrible
I originally was in the market for a replacement vehicle after a transmission issue with my previous car and thought that the Jaguar was a nice-looking vehicle that stood out in comparison to all the other cars in my town. That drew my interest enough to go and look at it. I went and gave it a test drive and liked that it was fully loaded and had on board navigation and other interesting features that I didn't have on my previous American made car. The first couple months were pretty good with it, but it started to have all kinds of mechanical issues that warranted getting it looked at. It was after I took it to a mechanic that I realized that the issue with the car was not a minor one but a costly electrical fault ($2000). They told me that the issue was their for months and that most... (more)
Story
I got stuck at a Walmart in winter without a cell phone when the car first got its electrical issue. I wanted to call a friend to pick me up, but I didn't actually know any of their numbers without my phone in front of me, so I had to walk 5 miles in the freezing cold at 12 at night to get home. I was mad about it at first, but I look back at it fondly for some reason.
Pros
The main selling point for me was the look of the car and the features that I didn't have with my previous car like a sunroof and back-up sensor.
Cons
The car had numerous electrical issues and I felt that the salesmen were not upfront about what was wrong with the vehicle.
2011 Jaguar S-Type - Prestigious nightmare
I bought this car thinking it would probably be my only chance to own a vehicle as prestigious as a Jaguar. I loved the color, which is kind of a very light ocean green. I was swayed by public opinion and the desire to own something of luxury. I am sad to say this car has been nothing but a money trap, even right down to replacing the Jaguar icon on the front of the car (which is the only way to open the hood), as it was stolen right off the car. That cost me a good 400 bucks.
Story
When my cousins were in town, we were all carpooling somewhere, and I asked my younger cousin to drive my car. He had no idea he would be driving a beautiful Jaguar. He was so impressed and proud. He and his mother took pictures and put them all over Facebook.
Pros
The prestige. The luxury. The heated seats. The seat position memory. The on-board Wi-Fi. The advanced stereo and CD player functions.
Cons
Even the smallest repair on the car costs a fortune. New windshield wiper—50 dollars. Replacement of Jaguar statue on hood—400 dollars. Forget about the price of gasoline. This car is a worse gas guzzler than my ex's truck. It's putting me in the poor house. And every time I drive it, the resale value goes down, leading me to believe that if I don't unload it soon, I'll regret it.
