The car is very quiet. The radio is great, and the air/heat really pumps. It is big enough for my family and has great horsepower. It is good on gas and oil. However, the exterior of the car tends to get scratched easily. Whether I brush up against it, or someone is really close to my car and gets out of theirs, the paint easily scratches. I am tired of having to smooth it down and paint over it. I have over 100,000 miles. I have more than made up my money with this car. The paint and scratch issue is the worst. The next thing would be the doors having issues locking. It is a power-locking system. I have to reach in and unlock the doors, and this gets irritating. In fact, there are times when I manually try to unlock doors it still does not work! This is extremely aggravating. All ... (more)
Story
Many people have stared at me while I was driving the car. I blushed, but continued to drive. I love the attention it gives me!
Pros
As I have said before, it is good on gas and oil. The air and heat pump very well, and I do not have to have it serviced much. Horsepower is great. I also love the sleek look of the car. It is very classy and ostentatious. I have had it for 16 years, and I am proud of this vehicle. I have fully obtained my money's worth out of the car.
Cons
The paint tends to chip easily, and there are problems with the automatic door locking system.

2001 Infiniti I30 - Solid and dependable.

This vehicle was a cash gift from my grandmother. It had over 100k miles on it before she gave it to me. It is now approaching 200k miles. The overall maintenance is relatively cheep. However the expensive part comes in with under the hood parts. Those parts can set you back a lot especially if you go through the dealer. The engine has always been relatively loud (even when brand new). The back interior is wide enough to hold 2 car seats with an adult also seated back there. The driver seat pulls forward far enough to accommodate someone who is extremely short (me) as well as someone who is slightly above average in height (my husband). It is supposed to use premium grade fuel but it has been running just fine on middle grade fuel. The trunk holds a full size stroller and leaves plenty... (more)
Story
I ran into a young person with the same type of car and they thought I was willing to race them. They sped off while I took my time.
Pros
The top positive thing about this car is the interior size. I have the space of a larger vehicle without having to try to climb into that larger vehicle.
Cons
The main con is the cost of parts that don't fall under regular maintenance.

1999 Infiniti I30 - Overall not bad.

Since I've purchased this car I don't have a lot of complaints. It's gotten me through some pretty major road trips going 12,000 miles on a couple different occasions without any problems. The car itself makes me feel very luxurious. I love the moon roof and leather interior. The one downside I can think of is that it's difficult for mechanics to make any repairs in the engine. One thing that's been causing some issues I'm told is a faulty Noc sensor. I've had it replaced on multiple occasions each time taking a couple hours because the mechanic had to essentially figure out how to get to the sensor without taking the engine apart. Aside from that I love my car.
Story
I took a road trip from Colorado to California with my fiancé in my car. It was our first big road trip since we had gotten engaged and we were going to California to visit our family to celebrate. The whole trip was fun, we had a lot of snacks, we jammed out to music playlists on our phones and we joked a lot.
Pros
I absolutely love the look of the car. To me it feels like I'm driving a much more expensive car because of some of the features. The leather interior and the moon roof in particular give me the sense of luxury.
Cons
Problems with the Noc sensor. For some reason it keeps going out even though I've had it replaced quite a few times. It causes a sputtering in the engine while you drive that can be a little concerning because I fear it could lurch me forward into another car or something along those lines.
