2004 Hyundai Tiburon - The car initially was great then when things started to break down they really broke down.
We purchased this used car for 4500 USD. Initially it was a fantastic purchase and the car ran great. It had around 45000 miles on it and truly was in wonderful condition. About a year or so after the purchase with about 20k miles added onto it from a lot of road trips, the car began to break down. The entire electrical system of the car simply started corroding away leading to extensive and expensive repairs to keep the car in legal driving condition. After we fixed the electrical problem, the clutch went. On only 65k miles the clutch was gone. Replacing the clutch and the electrical we thought the car would be in better shape but we were very wrong. Suddenly the lighting harness did not work. Story
I learned how to drive manual on it. Overall it was a fun experience learning to drive with it and learning how to take turns and slow down the engine without the use of breaks. It made for good memories.
Pros
Price was good, the car ran well, it was good on gas.
Cons
Car broke down more often than it should have. Expensive to fix.
2004 Hyundai Tiburon - Very dependable
This vehicle was a great choice to buy. It may look small on the outside but is comfortable in the inside for two. Great on gas, smooth drive and a great stereo system. Even after all these years of me owning this vehicle, it still runs very well. Has never left me on the side of the road and has never broken down on me. The one thing I don't like is that the left headlight bulb needs to be replaced almost every year.
Story
No sure about fun, but the memorable story I have is when my vehicle was caught in flooded area, the water never entered the vehicle. Those doors sealed up. Also, if you forget to turn off your lights, when you open your driver door, the lights automatically shut off. If your key is in the ignition, the doors will not lock.
Pros
Money well invested by purchasing this vehicle. After 14 years, the vehicle runs smooth. The only money I have spent is regular maintenance and, of course, some repairs due to wear and tear. Nothing major.
Cons
Left headlight has to be replaced often. After 12 years a door handle had to be replaced, and the motor for the passenger window had to be replaced twice.
