2005 Hyundai Sonata - It's not a nice car!
Ugliest modern sedan on the road. This car shimmies when it gets past 58 MPH. Regardless of how often you rotate tires, there is strong wear on the front tires that wears them down 80 times faster than the rear ones. Don't buy one. Beat your friends and relative who might be considering one into a proper mindset.
Story
I had none. The car shook violently when I took it off the lot. The dealer said this was common for this type of car and refused to offer service or to let me put it back on the lot. Massive POS!
Pros
It was cheap. Real cheap. Car was 18 months old when I bought it, Bluebook indicated a 40 percent depreciation, but I paid far less than the BB listed value.
Cons
It is not safe on the highway. With the quickly balding tires caused by the constant shimmy over 58 MPH, it's horrifying to drive in bumper to bumper situations. People will see you driving this thing and laugh at you for being seen in such a major POS.
2014 Hyundai Sonata - Positive, comfortable, safe
We did a lot of research on this vehicle prior to purchasing. We have a family including three young children. We wanted something that would be economic, fuel efficient, and comfortable for family road trips as well as have dependability and high safety standards. This vehicle has met all of our needs and demands. We have been very satisfied with our purchase. It has been a reliable vehicle and one that is accommodating to our growing family with its roominess.
Story
We have taken family road trips. Those are always memorable. We took our first cross-country road trip in this car last summer. We drove from Midwest to southern California. Kids enjoyed the trip, and although they were antsy not wanting to be in the car the whole time, we had no car issues, and we were comfortable and safe.
Pros
Safety is number one for us. Fuel efficient and economical. Comfortable, stylish and dependable as well.
