2015 Hyundai Sonata -
This vehicle is a smooth rider. Even my in-laws, who have been Toyota aficionados for years, comment on the luxurious feel of the vehicle. There is plenty of space in the back seat for two car seats, but it would be difficult to fit a third person back there. I love the trunk size as well. It is quite roomy for strollers and other baby paraphernalia and has plenty of space for everything we need for our family of four. The gas mileage is quite decent for a vehicle this size. We average between 24-26 mpg around town, and between 35-40 mpg highway. The driver's seat is not the most comfortable, but it can be adjusted to make it more so. Story
We took a trip to the beach when our youngest was only six weeks old. The baby slept the whole trip, and our toddler entertained us with songs and stories.
Pros
I love how affordable it is for a larger vehicle. I am also impressed with the gas mileage it gets. I drove compact cars for most of my life prior to this, so the size is large for me, even though it is not the largest vehicle available. I feel like it is an appropriate size for our growing family without being huge. It is also easy to maintain and has a high-quality engine and working parts just like the other Hyundai cars I have owned.
Cons
The driver's seat is not super comfortable, even with the adjustable features. Also, this should not be considered a five-person car if there will be car seats in the back. We have two car seats in the back seat, and there is not even room for a small person in the middle.
2011 Hyundai Sonata - I love my Hyundai Sonata!
I love how my Hyundai Sonata handles on the road. It reacts quickly in emergency situations, and the front-wheel drive stops on a dime! It is aerodynamic and has one of the highest safety ratings I've seen. The only thing that I've noticed that I dislike about it is when the windows are slightly cracked. Because of the shape of the body of the car, it makes this weird whistling noise unless you crack the windows on both sides of the vehicle to make the wind pressure even.
Story
When we first purchased this vehicle, our daughter was about 10 months old and hated riding in the car that we had previously. It was amazing to see how even she noticed the difference in how well it rode and how comfortable it was. Pros
It gets about 25 miles to the gallon as long as you aren't leaving it parked and running in one spot. If you leave it parked and running, it has a tendency to burn just as much gas as if you are actually driving it. My favorite features are the touchscreen dash functions. I have GPS and satellite radio capabilities. I can also wirelessly connect my phone, and my other Bluetooth enabled devices to my audio system and control them from my steering wheel. I also love the power seats.
Cons
The only negative thing is that the touchscreen is all-inclusive of the radio, GPS, and other vehicle functions, so if there is an issue with it, you have to replace the entire unit.
